If there was an implosion picked up and known by Monday morning then why in the hell have we spent 3 days getting people worked up in a “rescue” attempt??
The answer is two-fold. I doubt there is anyone who could (or would) say definitively or with any certainty that the anomaly picked up was the sub imploding. So, they weren't going to make that the final decision, especially with the reported knocking sounds.
The other reason is......money. The people involved are billionaires. Their families are billionaires. That financial clout, whether we like it or not, affords them certain leverages and pressures over governments and other entities. If this was Ricky from New Iberia with a homemade sub that cost a few grand they'd chalk it up to a dumbass just being a dumbass and move along.

Right - it would have been a PR nightmare if they would have stopped searching before the estimated hours of O2 had run out.
The ROV just happened to find the debris within 3-4 hours of being sent down? Just after the O2 ran out? They knew exactly where to look...

So they were relatively close to the Titanic when they imploded?
Pretty much - other reporting has them descending way too fast and trying to remove ballast on the way down. All sorts of issues.

To distract the masses like what it is doing now. Forget about the inflation, wars etc two billionaires are lost at sea with 4 days of air

Remind me, what are the US estate taxes for the Pakistani and British billionaires? You see the concern with the USCG picking up the tab for international water and a private corporation that could be based anywhere?
Police will be at your door shortly for that raping of ole boy’s narrative

Texags OP confirms a distress signal was sent to mothership just before implosion.
It was also reported somewhere they were descending too fast. Could that be the distress signal, going to fast and trying to release ballast but not working?
And if they descended too fast doesn’t that put additional stresses on hull due to quicker pressure changes?

I'm assuming carbon fiber is not going to be a preferred material on submarines from now on.

Probably not its just around a pound per 2.3 feet of depth. They probably couldnt descend fast enough to make a difference.

Why? It works. Even with this sub it worked multiple times, possibly up to a dozen.
The failure came with not monitoring the sub after those dives. Any submersible working at those depths will be subject to deterioration that can lead to catastrophic failure....literally any of them. That's why scrutiny is needed after each dive. The accumulation takes its toll.

Based on logic, the submersible made it intact to the bottom of the ocean floor. Hear me out.
Lost comm 1.5 hours into the dive. That puts it at a certain depth. The search area using the depth when comm was lost was estimated to be the size of Connecticut (what I heard).
If that submersible imploded when they lost comm, there is no way there would be a debris field near titanic. Debris would be spread out close to the size of Connecticut.
That submersible imploded on the ocean floor. That's why there's an debris field.

Hopefully we ran this by Zelenskyy first

I need to stop reading this thread. I’ve had My Heart Will Go On stuck in my head for a few days now.

debris field doesn't have to mean every single part of the sub, if this thing blew up 500ft from the bottom there would still be a ton of debris near the titanic. plus they also dont land directly on the titanic, if you watch the news reporter who rode in it, sometimes they go down there and get lost.

OceanGate says in a new statement that they believe the passengers of the Titanic submersible have “sadly been lost."

Reminds me of that quote from "The Edge" in 1997
quote:
Stephen : [Stephen, Charles and Robert walking up to peak of mountain looking for a place to start a signal fire] Robert why do you think they'll even come looking for us?
Robert Green : Our friend is a billionaire, you know what happens when you misplace one?

What ever happened to the Coast Guard announcement several decades ago that told amateur sailors that a certain distance from shore they were on their own, that the Coast Guard would no longer come to their rescue?
