That reminds me, have any of you heard of the Byford Dolphin incident?

Is that the one where the CEO says he's not interested in hiring 50 year old white guys? What a giggling galoot!

Can youimagine if they ended up dropping ballast and got to top and then in last hour of useable air a rescue ship finds them. Then the ship crew doesn’t have the right sized tool to undo the bolts to let them out?

It was posted a few pages back. I had never heard about it but after reading that article I can't even imagine what that scene looked like

At least Everest you have a decent view and see some cool shite throughout the expedition.
They need to build a Walmart up there. It'd fit right in with the piles of garbage and standing in lines to the summit. Self checkout for your oxygen tank, though. That location might restore the promise of a return to Black Fridays of old. Let that store have the best, really good deals. See if you can get the rednecks to take a shot at the peak for a $15.00 127" 18K TV.

A European vessel finds them. "shite, we only have metrics sockets and the sub has imperial. Oh well."

even though they never actually paid for DNV to asses the sub.
“Oh we thought you said DMV!”

The video game controller isn’t the issue. That’s a fairly common way that heavy machinery is operated in some cases
Yep, and I have to add
I've had quite a few logitech devices. I have never thrown one away because it stopped working. I've only disposed of them because I bought a new replacement.
I have had 4 mice I have used on my PC's the last 17 years. 3 logitechs and 1 expensive arse razor. The clicker on the Razor stopped working within 2 years. The 3 logitechs I just retired to get a new shiny one.
I had a logitech speakers/sub set I used for 12 years. Dog chewed a cord and finally killed them.
I've had two logitech game controllers like the sub used. Never had an issue.
I would want it wired though. frick wireless. I want a physical connection and no batteries.

Slowly suffocating as oxygen is depleted is way more painful.
As long as the CO2 concentration stays low, it would be relatively painless, physically. Death in oxygen deficient atmospheres not too bad overall.

if they last that long it’s pretty cold down there too

It ain’t THAT bad. Pink mush in deep diver gear, charred splatter on a wall.
The worst is the white eyeballs staring at you in the helmet.
They felt nothing at all.

I would think waiting to die in complete darkness for 3-4 days would be a terrible way to go.

Someone said that it Schrödinger’s Sub right now, and I’m impressed cause that’s the most accurate shite I’ve ever heard, pure genius

Couldn't they just drill an air hole into the thing in this case?
Not that it matters, I think this is all but over sadly
