Would you tip the guy who is installing a new dishwasher? We paid Lowe's a fee ($140) to have this installation done.

Thoughts?

Under most scenarios...no.

Now if he encountered something unexpected and went above and beyond to make sure you were taken care of, then yes.

You have got to be kidding me here. That installer is doing the job he's being paid to do. His tip comes in the form of a paycheck from Lowes and probably any benefits that Lowes provides.

It's your money - tip him if you must. I think that's ridiculous though.

I used to deliver furniture and appliances back in high school and college and we would get tipped every now and then for installing washing machines/dryers/window units/TV's/VCR's etc......I've never had to install a dishwasher bc the electricians mostly did that

Just had mine installed today.

He thought he would have to do some cutting. It was going to be $50 extra. He ended up not having to do it. I tipped him the $50 for his honesty.

You paid $140 for that?! It's easy AF dude.

FYI, I just bought a washing machine from Best Buy and they offer free delivery and installation. I'm sure the same applies for other appliances there.

Shut up! no its not it's actually really hard and complicated and if you don't know what you're doing you will burn down your house. That being said I'll install it for bout $350

Well to be honest, I have a broken spine and am prepping for back surgery. So I'll pay what it takes at this point in my life.

I’m confused. How do you “install” a wife?

In all seriousness, what did he do that you couldn't? Typically has 1 screw to open junction box, 2 screws to attach power, screw on a hose fitting, and attach drain with a hose clamp, then put f screws or so to attach to cabinets. It's seriously easy to do, but I get it I guess....

If you paid someone a fee, I personally wouldn't tip them. That's what a fee is. Let him use your shitter and offer him a beverage.

I've been there long ago so I might depending on service but it wouldn't be much.

I would of course offer a cold drink upon arrival and ask what I can I do to make his job easier.
