This.

I bought a used Civic Si off FB Marketplace a month ago. Dude who owned it had tinted it all around and you could barely see out of it. Removing it was a PITA and I had to scrub all of the windows with isopropanol and magi-eraser to get the residue off.

You really don't understand why police don't want you to have something over the windows that prevent them from seeing inside your car and what you have in your hands???

The issue is the darkest legal tint is basically nothing at all.

Window tint requirements, front plates, and inspection stickers vary by state. A cop doesn't know the whole story easily unless you have dark tint AND a La expired inspection sticker showcased on your windshield. The key to it is to NOT get an inspection sticker. Than the cop has to get a good look at your rear plate to verify where you're from and if you're worth pulling over.

Someone from Michigan can cruise through Louisiana with pitch black tint, no inspection sticker, and no front plate. Livng the American Dream.

An expired inspection sticker and dark tint is an easy grab for Barney Fife. Go incognito and let them do the "police work" to figure it out.

Wait..did the law change in Louisiana? I thought it was no less than 50% on front windows..

Tinted car windows

rear windows can be very dark

the front windshield and doors can only have a light tint suck as a pair of sunglasses

if your car has factory tint, its not very dark, but add tint to it and they become like limo dark tint

The thing is, everywhere i go i constantly see cars with darker windows than what is legal. What gives? Do car inspection shops not enforce it?

Its all about finding the right inspection station.
Those old cocksuckers in Kenner, when I lived there, would probably have you arrested for having too dark tint.

The old grisly dude who's had his own service station since 'Nam doesn't give a shite if the car even runs.

It depends.
Are you driving around like an arse or are you hauling Braylnne and Tennleihgh to dancing in your Telluride?

I can imagine most cops don’t GAF about 20% on a grocery getter unless they are turds hunting for revenue

I bought my car used with widows tinted to Tennessee standards that, apparently, are darker than what Louisiana allows so I failed the Louisiana inspection. I had gotten used to the tint though so I had it retinted to Louisiana limits.

Yea, I know what they say. I just hate when the government makes a law then they don’t have to abide by it.
What’s next cameras and microphones in your house? Oh yea, that is already a possibility/probability.

Once you do, you'll wonder what took you so long. I do 20% all around with a windshield strip on my vehicles.
