re: Time for winter texans to go home

An old couple who lived in one of the condos where I lived, in Dallas, had a summer house in Michigan on one of the Great Lakes. They stayed up there for four or five months every year. My dad's only living brother, who lives in Denver, used to have a Winter house in Surprise, AZ, where the Rangers do Springs.

Texas is full of arseholes - more news at 11.

And then makes the comparison of one being a path and the other being a landmass...as if that remotely helps explain his error.
Also, Rockport is the white trashiest nice town on the Texas coast. Could be really good if that element was gone.
Latitude is a nice restaurant!

They’re completely different words

My brother in Christ, this is a special kind of stupid but it is not exclusive to one region. I have no idea why people stand in the middle at a busy grocery store, but they are aggravating as heck. MOVE. Be self-aware. If you need to tweet or gram, step aside and don't block the way.

Well…at least they are still curious at 85. I sort of want to know how their experiment ended. Hell, I want to know how it was conducted. I don’t think you could even weigh a single bag. Were they weighing multiple bags together and taking an average? And of course, while the weight of each bag might be roughly the same, its cost will vary, depending on what type of produce is in it. There are a lot of variables to consider, Tex. Maybe you just need to move the hell on to a different scale. These ladies have science to conduct.

You would scratch your eyes out if you saw what the HEB near me was like all the time, year round. I haven't even set foot inside that place in a couple years.
But it shouldn't be that difficult to be patient with a couple of old ladies who couldn't do anything fast if they wanted to.

SWFL says "hold my beer". We quadruple in size, with snowbird Yankees, Midwesterners & Canadians. Why these retirees feel the need to be on the roads at 8am & 5pm (the early bird specials end at 5) is beyond me. They stand in the aisles of Publix, staring listlessly, like they have never been in a grocery store before.
But the beach is close and there isn't a whole lot of crime. They go away for 6 months and things are peaceful, so I guess it evens out.

Our town doubles in head count during the winter, as folks from Minnesota , Michigan, North Dakota etc arrive in their trailers. Generally they are nice people, until they go to HEB and stand in the isles.......Usually they are comparing cans of peas for how many are in the can. I have endured the winter texans for 25 years. Today I met a whole new level of winter texan. I lived in an apartment complex in Harlingen for a couple of years back in the early 90s and a lot of the units rented to winter Texans. I kind of liked having them around. Pretty good neighbors and civilized patrons of restaurants and stores.
The HEB was chaos regardless.

Midwesterners on the left, Northeasterners on the right. My dad has been going down to his place in Cape Coral for about 30 years, on an offshoot of the Bimini Canal.
