Only way to stop it is not buy anything there. Looks like demand is not slowing so the increases will continue. There are items on my weekly shopping list that i used to buy but since the price increases have been crazy have quit buying. If the price starts going down maybe i buy again.

I still get sticker shock at the grocery store sometimes. Food is up way more than 10% or whatever the government says it is.

Caniac where I live comes out to $16.00 even. Watson, LA

Keep voting for Dem’s and the prices will keep going up. A business runs on margins. To maintain their margin when raw materials are going up you have to raise prices or you’ll be out of business along with the employees who are depending on you for a paycheck.
Every inflationary policy move increases the prices of everything. The student loan bailout contributed a few cents to the cost of your Canes. If you don’t understand that you must be a Dem.

The fascination with canes prices on this site is, well, fascinating.
Either don’t buy it if you don’t want to spend the money or buy it and shove it in your fat face. Either way, a thread isn’t needed.

Arby’s is just as bad.
Paid 24 dollars for lunch yesterday.
Large French Dip and Swiss and 2 sliders and a half pound Roast beef for supper.

I wouldn't buy canes with an 80% off coupon. So overrated

AbitaFan. The thread serves as an opportunity to discuss business, inflation, government and politics. Some people think all businesses do is gouge the consumers. The Canes discussion is a microcosm of the whole economy. Inflation in the pipeline is going to overwhelm us in 6-12 months. I don’t think we have seen anything yet. Elections and policies have consequences and the consequences are not good. Hate to be so negative but the supply chain has been crushed and it’s going to be painful.

Calandros is feasting right now.

I go in there occasionally but my grocery bill is already too high to buy everything there.

Ain’t no way I’m every buying a Caniac again…
Cracker Barrel chicken meal: 11.99
Popeyes: 2 can dine 8.99 (coupon code 5148)
Churches: 3 piece 2.99 / smokehouse 7.29
That’s all bone-in chicken…

$8.99 for 3 fingers is an even bigger holy fricking shite

I lived behind that original Canes when it opened. I'm trying to remember what a box cost at the time - maybe $4.99.

Something about paying over 10 dollars for a fast food meal just feels wrong

We have Otters Chicken here close by my house in NW Atl.
They have a big sign on their register that states something along the lines of
“Until further notice there will be a 9% surcharge added to every ticket due to current inflation”
I like how they handle it. Instead of jacking up menu prices and never bringing them back down. Add it as a percentage and let people know why it’s happening. Hopefully at some point they will be able to drop it.

Not sure why anyone, at least in Louisiana, would bother with Canes anyway. Was always bland-arse chicken. No it's bland-arse overpriced chicken.
Seriously. Krispy Krunchy has much more flavor and is just as available across Louisiana.
