Try to fire a black person for saying honky when home on social media.

why would she say this?

She’s trying to be an influencer. Any attention is good attention, I guess.

She’ll probably try get a nice settlement. She might get one. Probably shouldn’t have said that though.

The only way she will get a settlement is if black people at her work said the same thing and weren’t fired. She can then argue that she was fired for being white and saying it and file suit for being fired over race.

But good luck with all of that.

Why are they now offended?
Because they have political power and they know that they can ruin the lives of anyone they want.

It's mainly because the Black Community eschews education so their vocabulary is limited to like 10 words or less.

Yes that's the one!

If she wanted to keep her job (she clearly didn't care) she shouldn't have said it.

Yeah, seems like she had a motive and a goal. We'll see how it shakes out.

Of course. In a vacuum, I agree with you. But that is not how it is. Racial discrimination is illegal and someone of another race could say the same word and not be fired.

If you don't want white people to say n*g*as, don't put it in every song that you make, every movie you make, etc.

Don't allow hispanics, and asians to say it.

Don't use it casually with each other.

But most importantly, don't call white people n*g*as, if you don't want it to be used casually by everyone.

Blacks have made it so common within our society, that it's become ubiquitous.

All of this.

There was an interracial couple here in Bham. They had a sign put in their yard (pretty sure they did it themselves) that said something like n****s get out. I remember talking to my neighbor about it. She was going on and on about how racist it was. It blew her mind when I told her that it was only racist depending on who actually put the sign up.

I don't speak for all of black people, only myself. But she didn't use the word in a racist connotation at all. So I really can't bring myself to care.

Saying a word should not get anyone fired.
I would 100% call for any of the staff that works for me to be fired for this

Anyone at any reputable business would

Would easily be fired at my company without hesitation and there wouldn’t be a problem

I hate that word, don’t say it, and don’t allow my kids to say it. But - this chick was using it in a context that black people use regularly to refer to men in general. It’s all over social media, television, in popular music that is marketed to all races, and is used in daily speech. To expect a term to be that ubiquitous in society and culture but not allow one race of people to say it without having their lives ruined is ridiculous and shows how ridiculous we are as a society. I have a kid who is gay and took to using the word “f@ggot” in their daily speech, but would get upset if a straight kid said it. I shut that down. If a word is offensive for anyone to say then it’s offensive for everyone to say and it’s not allowed in my house, added to the list with the n-word.

Anyone acting offended for what she said is faking it

However, any professional job will and should fire you for what she did. No way on earth would I trust an employee who does something like she did

She was pretty intentional with her words. She wanted to be incendiary, wanted to get fired, and is acting like she's manipulated the situation perfectly.

Her freedom of speech was never taken from her. That's the funniest part to me.

Exactly. Regardless of the word(s) used, if you say something that could damage a company's reputation for any reason, you shouldn't expect to be employed there much longer.
