Legend, you’ve posted some really interesting things ITT.
Thanks! I buy oddball stuff. My Pops, and my Mom to a lesser extent, always bought and sold and we have had a business off and on for years. I kind of got dragged along into it, sometimes against my will, but I came to love "junking". My Pops passed away a few years ago of ALS, and I just haven't gotten back into the full swing of it yet. It just isn't the same. I still buy some, but haven't sold alot unless someone comes looking for something. These threads are helping me want to get back going again, though.
I have all sorts of interests, but I'm not a "collector" really, as there are few things I wouldn't sell. I like anything handcrafted or handmade. I buy alot of primitive stuff and have some interesting things in that regard.

I was actually there when you bought it, commenting on the great purchase. As you already know, it’s worth $400-$500 dollars
I wish this guy still did videos. He's a big time Coleman collector, and has some really rare pieces. He shows how to fix and restore them, too. I wouldn't mind having one of these heaters.

If y’all didn’t see my other thread, my hat sold for $250. Not bad for a $3 investment. Actually it sold last night for $305, then the buyer emails me, says he didn’t mean to bid on it. He bid nine times. I relisted today, took a $250 offer

Have a couple of Nolan Ryan rookies that my dad passed down to me. Unfortunately, he wrote his initials on the back of one (he was 9 at the time) and even more unfortunately, both of the cards went through hurricane katrina so they’re both essentially worthless. Very cool, nevertheless.

So did you ever find out why that hat was so popular among bidders?
I would’ve passed that one by at a sale, never realizing it was that valuable.

What's up with that? Drunk ebaying? Caught up in the fever of bidding then cooled off?

I'll play - my dearly departed grandfather left me this team-signed baseball from the NY Yankees. I'm lazy about researching what year it was, but it has some HOF autographs on there. The biggest problem is that he kept it in his old wooden desk without a protective cover for about 30 years, so a lot of the signatures are faded (some to the point of near illegibility) and the ball has yellowed greatly. When he gave it to me as he was dying of cancer in 1995, I immediately went to Frank's Card Shoppe in Kennah brah and got a standard plastic ball stand to put it in.
Here's pics - let me know if you need any more information please. I might be willing to sell if the risk of the signatures fading off completely outweighs the sentimentality. Also any advice on how to better store / protect the signatures at this point would be appreciated.
ETA: Some of the sigs are:
Mickey Mantle (good quality - prominent location)
Yogi Berra (good quality - prominent location)
Roger Maris (okay quality - not a prominent location)
Tony Kubek (poor quality but legible)
Ralph Terry (okay quality)
I'm sure theres a couple more legends / HOF's on there as well. I should go through and try to figure out the year by the players on the ball and the process of elimination and that should help me identify all the signatures that I am not familiar with.

So I watched a guy on tik tok who buys $500 in pennies at a time. Runs a magnet over them first to get the steels. Then gets all the coppers and smells them. Then bundles the rest back up and gets the money back. He claims to make good money doing it because so many old pennies are still in circulation.
I mean, that's kind of brilliant. It's still money, he just exchanges the ones worth .01 back to the bank for cash.

The cost to smelt copper is greater than the gain. so unless he is making a killing on the steel pennies, he is not making anything.

My dad has plenty of cool shite POWpow brought back from Germany.
I don’t have access to any pictures right now, but one thing that stands out is an Irwin Rommel field manual. Mint. Still in plastic.
Also an SS officer degen. Good condition.

Hopefully that’s a 1961 baseball, since it has Mantle and Maris on it.
A sign Mantle ball is worth $300-$500, add other HOFers, and if it’s from 1961, you could be looking at $1200-$1500

Looks like Kent Hadley and Art Ditmar above Maris. That would put it at 1960, Hadley's only year with the Yankees.

I have two sets of four of these glasses. No idea if they are actually from 1958/9 or what but they’re pretty cool.
I’m guessing their fairly old with the extremely out of date use of a Chinese Bandit drawing though.
