Got to the stadium just before kick off and walked up to the metal detectors with my keys and wallet in my hands. Security guard said “put that stuff away, we turned those things off a while ago”. Did anyone go through them when they were turned on? Any idea what happened to get them all shut down?

Saw in the paper this morning where LSU did a press release about rolling out the detectors. I wonder if anyone told the administration they turned them off before the game even started.

The SEC is requiring them but the deadline has not expired. LSU is probably testing them now at certain gates to work out the kinks. I didn't notice any at my gate yesterday.

Metal detectors, background checks, they keep weeding all the criminals out pretty soon we won’t have any players on the field or TAF directors in the suites

We walked in about 20 minutes before kickoff and they were off. I heard someone say the line going in was crazy long so they stopped screening people

I heard that they were installing them at certain gates. Not all of them yet. It’s in anticipation of an SEC rule that all of their sporting events have metal protectors by 2020.

Funny that they were turned off, though.

LSU installed 15 metal detectors in Tiger Stadium by Saturday.

It's part of a plan to have the security measures at every entrance to the stadium by next year. The metal detectors were at Gates 23-28 Saturday.

Keys, coins, belts, watches and jewelry can stay on the person. Cell phones, cameras, tablets, and other large metal items had to be removed and placed in a basket as fans pass through the security gate.

The SEC will require metal detectors at all stadiums by 2020.
