Shittiest state is California where you have to step over piles of human shite and used needles in larger cities

I'd take San Diego over any of the shite tier states being discussed in here.

I've lived in AL for over 35 yrs.

Lived in LA (Bossier City) for about 3 years. Had relatives in the past that lived in Lafayette and Baton Rouge. Visited all of them.

Lived in MS (Biloxi/Woolmarket) for just over 7 years.

Most tracked categories haven't been close for many years with AL staying ahead of both.

GA is nothing to crow about.

Like biology and the gender spectrum huh

Just so you know, they're putting the covid vaccine for the reason for clotting on medical charts now. Family is in the medical field and has seen it numerous times now. It's not a conspiracy.

West Virginia is shittier than Mississippi, Alabama, or Louisiana

WRONG…one thing missing from West Virginia that is prevalent in MS/LA/AL…therefore makes WV superior.

WV is not nearly as bad as folks here make it out to be. Some of the most beautiful country I've seen was in WV. We go skiing there and they have some very nice resorts.

The average temperature for the month of January is 33 degrees. While that is fine for skiing for a week, it is miserable to live in cold weather like that surrounded by an opioid epidemic, and no industry for work. Mountains are nice to ride through, but it gets old living in them in the winter and it’s often a windy, blustery 20 degrees outside.

Alabama is just right. We may not have big bustling cities and massive pro sports teams but we also don’t have the problems that come from those things. If you like family oriented, easy going life without all the woke bs then I can’t think of too many better places to be.

He’s lying. It’s awful. Don’t come here.

Don’t know if I care much for Alabama’s kind of family orientation.

That is why Mississippi is approaching purple horizons in presidential voting.

You need to check your facts…MS voted 57.6% for Trump in 2020 and Biden had only 41.06%…lowest of runner up since Michael Dukakis.

No it’s almost entirely the long term impact of Richard Shelby on the appropriations committee in the Senate and outstanding leadership in Huntsville (Battle). Huntsville has exploded to become the economic engine of the state now with Birmingham roughly static, and Montgomery & Mobile in decline due to skyrocketing crime causing urban flight. Walt Maddox had done a pretty good job post tornado revitalizing Tuscaloosa as well, but there are some serious crime problems now in south Tuscaloosa that seem to be getting worse rather than better so he has work to do if he wants to be seen as he was back in 2015 or so IMO. I’d say MeeMaw has been pro business, but it was largely Shelby and Battle who got things rolling

You can actually throw in Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson into that mix, along with congressman Jerry Carl. The overall economy in the Mobile area is doing well. People are moving out of certain areas of Mobile proper, but staying close in rapidly growing areas to the north, west and especially the Eastern Shore.

Gov mee-maw is largely a figure head puppet who won the Peter Principle/Career Achievement award by being elected Lt Governor, and ascended with Bentley couldn’t control his urges.

Goes back a LOT further than Shelby for AL. Even good ol' Hefty Heftin (Howell Heflin, Hefty was his radio parody namesake for those not old enough to remember) did his part. NASA, Redstone, even Army Missile Command IIRC predate Shelby.

The Auburn metro area is growing fast as well with new industry, and arguably has the best public schools in the state.

They are probably just saying that because of the governors election last year.

Dems in MS actually ran a fairly moderate democratic candidate and Tate is not very well liked (even though I think he is doing a decent job). He probably lost a fair amount of independents and even republicans on not wanting to expand medicaid. Rural hospitals are struggling to stay open because they get so many uninsured that can't afford to pay.

Why do you think Walt Disney backed out of Disney World? He wanted to build it in an area that was very close to New Orleans? Disney World was scheduled to be built on a site that would attract people from neighboring states. Guess what happened. A group of people that were well known and those in politics approached Walt and demanded that they wanted a piece of the pie after Disney World was built. Walt immediately said no and Disney World was built in another state. It was said that Walt could not believe how corrupt the La. law makers were, so he told La. that because of corruption involving their law makers he took Disney World off of the table. People in La. wonder why this state is a state that will never move forward. Corruption in La. is well known in this country. Every law maker wants their share of the pie. Corruption is why this state will never advance because law makers and wealthy people will always have their fingers in the pie. Here is another fact about the corruption that is going on. Did you know that a automobile plant wanted to locate in Louisiana but they were approached by the crooks and they said no way in hell that we are going to build an auto plant in Louisiana. Montgomery, Alabama got the plant .

Mississippi just landed a $10 billion dollar deal with Amazon to build two massive data centers. I would say Louisiana has fallen far behind Mississippi.
