Health officials are raising alarm about a rise in STDs across the United States.
For the fifth consecutive year, combined cases of gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis have risen in the United States, according to a Sexually Transmitted Disease Surveillance Report from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published on Tuesday.
"Combined they total 2.4 million infections that were diagnosed and reported just in last year alone," said Elizabeth Torrone, a CDC epidemiologist who worked on the new report, adding that the combined number marks "the most cases" ever recorded since monitoring began in the United States.

Thanks so Tinder, Grind3r, and peptides

Did they talk about solutions, causes, cases for action?
Or was it just an information announcement?
Do we know the primary demographics for its increase?
Areas we can target to help reduce the problem?

Young people are at all time high of sluttiness.
I went back to Ole Miss last year and looked around at the women in the bars. It was a full on Kardashian-effect. I saw chicks literally wearing bras as their shirts with shorts that were smaller and tighter than some underwear or skirts that were more like belts in the fact they were above the hips almost.
The instagram/thot culture combined with slutty being "cool" and the proliferation of "hookup apps" has led to an explosion of sex and de-stigmatization of promiscuity.
I'm not complaining about it, but I just wish this had happened 13 years ago when I was a freshman at Ole MIss
ETA:
I suggest going to Ole Miss, getting a good spot early at The Library on a big weekend, and just people watching.

You aren’t untrue but the truth is that old boomers and retirees discovering the intrawebs and peptides the last 10 years is where the biggest increases are coming from

I'll bet it's mostly old people in retired living situations. Lots of boomer widowers with nothing to do but take boner pills and catch shite.

OweO even caught chlamydia from his hand. shite's everywhere these days.

I am willing to bet it has more to do with the availability of Plan B. Thanks to planB you raw dawg a random girl even if she is not on birth control and not have to worry about a baby.

I think this has a lot to do it with. People think of condoms more in regards to preventing pregnancy than preventing the spread of disease.
With the proliferation of all kinds of birth control (which I support) I think both guys and girls forgo condoms thinking “it’s fine. I’m not going to get pregnant.”

Agree. The spike began in 2012...the year the HHS mandate was issued.
