I thought Cuba was heaven on earth. That's what I've been told by a few people who are of the progressive persuasion. They've told me the best thing to ever happen there was that the US hasn't been able to implement our racist and unfair policies in place there.

Well, I had the exact same conversation. It was in a hired car from Moreton in Marsh in England to the train station in Birmingham. The driver was a guy of probably 60, who went to Cuba twice a year and went on and on about how the US is shite and Cuba is the international ideal the UK and the US should emulate. Best education in the world. Best healthcare in the world.
I asked if he ventured outside of major tourist areas and talked to real people about the regime outside of the watchful eye of the state. He didn't like me very much after that.

Cuba is fricking awesome. I would much rather hang out with the average Cuban over the average American. Very smart people.
The United States should be embarrassed by the level of economic warfare it has employed against Cuba following the bay of pigs CIA sponsored terrorism mission. It is a huge factor in their humanitarian crisis.

was there for work one time and after we landed the local crew came on the airplane to clean it, after they finished one of the cleaners, after looking over his shoulder to make sure he wasn't being watched, started to look through the magazines that used to be on airplanes, he asked our agent if there's any way he could get one of these, about that time his boss came up and that ended that and they left, our agent gathered up a few magazines and went into their operations area, he approached the guy that wanted the magazines and offered them to him but the boss was in the room and the guy wouldn't even acknowledge our agent, wouldn't be surprised if ole baw didn't get some sort of punishment for fraternizing with infidel capitalist dogs
