Going look at some houses today over that way near Harrison but can't get a good feel for that area. Seems like a few nice houses empty lots and some crap. I live like 10 streets over towards Jefferson parish but don't know if that area is worth it and to be forced to deal with Orleans parish

Yada yada culture and shite

Nothing wrong with the area other than the usual bad roads and small lots.
My buddy purchased a road home auction lot in that area and built himself a really nice house.
Between lot and construction he probably spent $400k and could easily sell for $750k today

The area isn't bad. I just couldn't bring myself to buy a house in Orleans parish. Lakeview has some of the worst streets in the city and you pay out the arse in taxes.

That's the answer I was looking for, thanks. The street wasn't bad and fleur de lis seems way better than I remembered. Really just not many 4 bedroom affordable options around here

Yeah it's just ridiculous with the real estate from Bonnebel to the 17th sfreet canal and north of vets.
It's starting to get like old Metairie with the amount of tear down and rebuilds going on right now.

It would be nice if they tore down all the shitty apartments on Lake and Carrollton.

Not a bad area, but Fluer De Lis may be the most jacked up street in the city. You need a damn Humvee to get down the street.

I refuse to consider Orleans based on a few things but infrastructure is on top the list.. it's 2016 and you have to boil your water 5 times a year... you have roads that are impossible to drive on (Fleur Dis Lis is an excellent example). its really pathetic. And don't even get me started on the cultcha
