Whatever you give to a 16 year old is going to do anything and everything other than increasing in value.

Better than that guy a few months ago who claimed to have gotten his son a 2015 Corvette (I think) for his 16th birthday.

I like it. My first truck was an 85 K5 blazer that my dad and I fixed up. It was awesome bonding time and it taught me a lot about cars.

It also helped that sloots wanted to go mudriding

I don't understand the downvotes. I say go for it. My son and I are working on a 1955 Willys Wagon together. It will mean a lot more to him than if you were to just go buy him a new car.

I understand. It's not really an investment for money. It's more for our relationship.

I can still find him one of these if he fricks up and whines about gas mileage.

No giant lift kit. Will put in 4 point harness seats and rollbar.

Word. I hope that helps. Safety should be the first concern for a first vehicle, imo.

I completely agree with you in everything you're wanting to accomplish with this idea, just wanted to give you the friendly reminder that he'll be 16 and that thing will end up buried to the body within a few weeks.

It's the OT. Lots of nerds that get off on down votes and have no idea which end of the football to hold.

It's no big deal.

In this case, you'll get your money's worth out of the truck before you ever pull it out of the driveway.

I can't decide if that would be a pussy magnet or not. If your boy deems it a pussy magnet, buy it for him.

Get him something safe and reliable. Don't use his first vehicle as your project. That will not end well.

I agree. That truck is a death trap when compared to today's vehicles.

I think it would be so unique that it must draw the ladies.
