My brother’s wife has one too. (No pics, think Rubenesque beauty)

They love it.

MAYBE I’ll get one in retirement...

I have a ‘20 premium for my company car. The fleet service that my company uses all Subaru vehicles. It is a nice car, well basically a lifted wagon. Plenty of room for Fam of 4.
I like the cross bars on the roof, which fold to the side when not in use. My older Yakima bike rack fits nicely on it. I don’t opt for extra upgrades but even with the lower trim, you still get the huge infotainment screen (like the Dodge Rams).
I had an ‘18 before it which was good too. And yes, I have “the colors” & “equality” stickers plastered all over....jk.

So is a Camry but that doesn’t mean I want to see it in my driveway. No judgement here though. Just think most SUVs/crossovers look soft these days

I don't really give a shite what it looks like. I have a personality outside of the vehicle I drive.

I recommend you look at a Volvo XC70 - better vehicle than either of your choices.

If I didn’t want a truck I’d get a 4runner, couldn’t do an outback

They are awesome cars. They are well built, safe, and one of the best cars I’ve owned.

Still drive my 2012 Outback. Best vehicle I've ever owned, and will be buying another when this one does.

We have one that’s going in for routine service this AM. It’s a 2018 with 25,000 miles. We have absolutely no trouble with it. It’s a top line Touring. My wife loves the features and it’s not overly stuffed with features to where it becomes overwhelming.

I’m toying with the idea of just buying her a new one this morning and trading this one in. Doubtful though.

It’s a very versatile vehicle you can mod and tinker with if you’re into that. The AWD helped when we were living in a snowy environment when we bought it.

Overall, my wife gives it a 10. I give it an 7-8 because they don’t have very good preventative maintenance plans attached to it. You will pay $120 every time you take it in for service.

How is it more practical than a truck? It's more practical than a fiat or Ferrari, but a truck?

Why are you taking it in to the dealer?

No question the Volvo is the better vehicle. It's a matter of price. The Outback is about half the cost to own and maintain.

I will have an outback as my commuter car. I don’t care much about cars and I am getting it for free.

Does it have a CVT or the 5 speed?

The Nissan CVT’s suck. Subaru and Honda seem to have much better luck with theirs.

I’m not trusting anybody else to work on this thing. Certainly no shop in LC. We’ve had no problems with dealer maintenance. We will keep it that way.

She wants the new safety features they have in the car, as well as some other minor upgrades. I likely will not as this was the last year they had the R 3.6 V6. Now they go with some variation of the 4. I don’t care for that. The V6s on the Outback are a tank.
