Thoughts on the Hyundai Sante Fe?

Looking at a 2017 Hyundai Sante Fe. 30k miles for $20k.
Want 3rd row seating and the ability to tow 1500 pounds (pop-up trailer). Need to upgrade from a sedan to a family car.
I like the Sante Fe. Drives well. I'm worried about longevity and reliability. We've always driven Hondas.
Any other suggestions in the ~$25k price range?

Have had them as rentals
Much better than a dodge journey, jeep compass or most other stuff in that range

It really did drive nice. I test drove it as a courtesy to the salesman who suggested it.
I would have never thought I'd be considering a Hyundai, but it seemed to have everything we want for a good price.

I drive a 2014 Santa Fe. Got it brand new and I love it. No major issues since I bought it

Problem is new went down to 4 cylinder. 2017 still has the 6 cylinder.

It's a decent rental car.

Check out the Volkswagen atlas. The amount of room in it is ridiculous and I am sure the v6 can pull what you want. Reliability is a concern but it is a very good looking vehicle.

We have a Santa Fe and G80 and love both them. Very reliable and great gas mileage on the highway.

Looks like a great choice. I worry about the maintenance costs though. Aren't Volkswagens notorious for being pricey when anything goes wrong?

Wife drives one. Loves it

Hey crazy question - could a Tundra seat a family of 4 and a dog? Without throwing the dog in truck bed? I'm thinking no, but I haven't looked in a Tundra in a long while.

How big are your kids and how big is the dog?

Kids are in carseats. Dog is 55 pounds.

Then I think they’d fit as long as the dog won’t go nuts

Crate the dog in the back or something. No reason to have a stinky dog rubbing his nasty arse all over your vehicle.

Hyundai makes good cars.

Wife has been driving one for two years. Loves it. Absolutely no issues, and the 100,000 mile warranty is a great incentive.

We got a new Santa Fe sport mid level trim for $22k in August.
It’s a solid vehicle. Surprisingly comfortable and fun to drive.
We intend to own it for 8-9 years
