Thoughts on redline neighborhoods?

With everyone having the “uncomfortable” conversations on racial issues. I keep seeing redline neighborhoods being brought up. What are your thoughts on this subject?
ETA:
Redline neighborhoods
Pretty much neighborhoods were marked based off of income/race and then banks/investments typically avoided these neighborhoods. Also if you lived in this neighborhood you struggled to get mortgages, loans, etc. Meaning it was hard to develop a neighborhood.

First, you need to explain to me what a Redline neighbored is.

Neighborhoods with high proportion of minority residents are more likely to be redlined than other neighborhoods with similar household incomes, housing age and type, and other determinants of risk, but different racial composition.
[4] While the best known examples of redlining have involved denial of financial services such as banking or insurance,[5] other services such as health care (see also Race and health) or even supermarkets[6] have been denied to residents. In the case of retail businesses like supermarkets, purposely locating stores impractically far away from targeted residents results in a redlining effect.[7]
In the 1960s, sociologist John McKnight coined the term "redlining" to describe the discriminatory practice of fencing off areas where banks would avoid investments based on community demographics

I'm not. My opinions have remained the same. I'm not at all surprised by any of this.

Does a neighborhood become blackline when all it’s supermarkets are burned down by its residents?

They broke into a Rolex Store and a Jason's Deli. White people better hope they don't start denying credit to those areas.
Ain't no Jason's Deli in a bad hood.

Yeah, member when that cocksucker Barney Frank forced the banks to give out home loans to those that couldn’t even get cleared for insurance?

The term refers to the presumed practice of mortgage lenders of drawing red lines around portions of a map to indicate areas or neighborhoods in which they do not want to make loans.

And people wonder why the housing market crashed

It’s a huge circle jerk. Redlining is denying people loans because of the neighborhood they live in.
A few years ago it was a thing, then banks started loaning money to anyone regardless of any red flags, people started defaulting on loans, the housing bubble popped, and the government bailed out the banks.
I guess we are back to redlining being a thing.

In other words, places in which the mortgage lenders were less likely to get their money back.

Yup. But everybody wants to blame the big bad banks, nobody wants to lay the blame at the government’s feet for forcing the banks to lend money to people that would never be able to pay the note.

Oh, so just like how Papa Johns and Dominos won’t deliver to certain neighborhoods.
