Potentially moving there in 2022. Curious if anyone can give feedback on the area. Obviously, tornadoes (happening now) are a thing. But, are they really bad in that area? How are the schools? Is it a good place to raise a family?

Way better than OKC. More cool of a city (it's part of the Tulsa metro area)

Owasso is pretty new, clean and growing.

It’s non-descript, but nice. I have several friends that have lived there and they really liked it, seems to be famiky-oriented. I think those long-track, catastrophic tornadoes are a greater issue towards Oklahoma City/Norman.

I live on “technically” the western most portion of BA, which is basically on the border between BA and Coweta. I’ve been here about 6 years.

Owasso seems like a nice place to live and raise a family. Oklahoma schools are a little lackluster, but Owasso has a good district. Schools here are huge. Broken Arrow has 20k students. Not sure the size of Owasso, but they all play in the same football conference. Speaking of football, Owasso is an up and comer over the last 10 years and is currently #1 in 6A Div1. So there’s that too.

The areas around Owasso also has some very nice housing options. Don’t let tornadoes worry you. I hate them and we missed some last night. This area doesn’t seem to attract the big boys like the OKC/Moore/Norman area does out west. Our area attracts the skinny danger noodles it seems.

Also lots of private school options in the area. My two have a lot of Owasso kids in their grades at our private school.

Tulsa Metro areas to consider living: East Broken Arrow, Jenks, Bixby, Owasso. Great expressways around, so commutes aren’t terrible no matter where you work & live. People can’t drive for shite sometimes and the Tulsa on/off ramps suck dingaling.

Where are you moving from? I lived over by Garth Brook’s in-laws once upon a time. It’s a nice area, and Tulsa is a fairly good city. You’re not too far from Fayetteville for an SEC fix.

Tulsa has been offering a $10k home buying incentive if you work from home..to attract new lifeblood.
And they recently completed a massive $465 million 63 acre urban park on their riverfront.
Another plus is Oklahoma has better rodeos than Texas.

I graduated high school from there like 20 yrs ago before heading back to LA to attend LSU. Parents just moved away from there two years ago. I make a pilgrimage back there every summer and have a crawfish boil with my old buddies and our families.

The good:
Cheap place to live
Good schools
Lotta churches (if that’s your thing)
Safe
Close enough to Tulsa which offers anything you’re looking to do

The bad:
It’s Oklahoma, and lacks any culture
There are literally no restaurants decent restaurants for a town of 20k ppl (though Smoke opened up a couple years back-so One restaurant)
It’s suburbia

Rolling Hills, close to a very large lake, close to airport, less culture, 4 seasons. I like Tulsa. Grew up there. I would move back in a heartbeat.

Not really an issue in that part of Oklahoma. Historically speaking. Northeastern OK is much different than the rest of the state. More trees and hills. Similar to NW Arkansas.

We lived in Broken Arrow for a little over a year back in 2007/8.
Great area and even the convenience store workers were polite.
