Which one? I might have to visit the place when I'm down there next month? I'm 65 (but my wife says I look 55 and act 85). Do I qualify?

There's a group of about 6 old men, who gather at the Sam's on Airline in Metairie, who suck up the free coffee and check out the ladies coming in the door to do their shopping...

It's pretty funny...

Close enough. The drugstore is one block off Main Street, right next to the Big Star grocery.

Highland Coffees

had one of the most intense conversations of my life with an old professor.. forget where from, but he was clearly middle eastern. It was just really deep about life, our world today...linguistics randomly.

Anyway.... when the convo kinda ended and I asked his name he said Myname and laughed. The way he pronounced he had to spell it out before I got he was saying his name was "My name". He then said...remember me not by my name...my name is irrelevant.. remember me by the ideas we shared... That was years ago, but don't think I'll ever forget that dude and our convo.

Kinda off topic of this thread, but when I saw coffee with old men and highland it brought me back.

Hi Ho in Hammond. I never knew they made Hi Hos available at 730a in the morning, but there it was and there they were. Kinda made the world spin on a new axis for me.

An Exxon gas station in my home town is HQ for the older guys in the morning. As early as 4:30, those guys are sucking down coffee and shooting the shite.

They never bother anyone. Not sure why anyone would have negative thoughts on them. They just want a place to hang out and talk.

If you're ever looking for an old man in Picayune, MS between the hours of 5-8 AM, you can bet he will be at Hardees.

There was a group of four, sometimes five, old guys who met every morning at a McDonald's where I lived. I stopped in on a regular basis on my way to work. It turned out they were all World War II vets, so I figured that was a BAMF group.

I think you have an in at the McDonalds on Jackson St. But the weekend group has got some angry fellas.

The one at Shipleys is like an off shoot of the orginal McD crew.

We had a small one going at Tamp and Grind, but younger people arent really reliable...they always have jobs to go to.
