I thought his biblical series was exceptionally interesting
The Cambridge debacle was frustrating because I think it hurt the timing/quality of the Exodus lectures he is/was planning

Pretty smart guy that uses science, reason and logic as a basis of his opinions.

He says what he thinks will get him the most attention for saying. He has said some intelligent things and I think he’s a centrist, but he set himself up for the most attention that way. He wanted to please both sides. He wants to make everyone happy. This of course is impossible to do.
I think he’s a sissy and his wife has him by the nuts. He isn’t a prophet. People put too much stock into what he says. I can’t take him seriously because he’s out to garner the most attention to make the most money. The dude crumbles like wet kleenex over mean tweets. He broke down crying over mean words, and he’s this big advocate of free speech.
Nah, sorry. He’s not my favorite guy.

Weirdly enough I'd not heard of him until last night when I watched him with Michael Malice as a guest. I liked him well enough but prefer Michael Malice. Lex Fridman was mentioned on here a few weeks ago and I've been watching his podcasts relentlessly since then. His interviews with Michael Malice are entertaining as hell, they have a great rapport. I don't know that much about Jordan Peterson's beliefs but would love to see him as a guest on Lex's show.

He gets hated on because he’s smarter and actually asks provocative questions. In other words he is what other academics should strive to be.

Had no idea he did a biblical series. Where can I find it?

Most of the interviews I’ve seen with him are people from the media trying to rile him up or get one over on him. But he’s so calm and collected with his replies it just highlights how wacko some of the interviewers are. He’s very stoic and methodical.

Jordan Peterson is considered educated thought by people who listen to Joe Rogan.

He's very heartfelt and an incredibly sincere and a very wise man who's also wickedly intelligent and a very good debater and lecturer. His background is in Clinical Psychology.
He grew up poor in a small roughneck town in the middle of nowhere Canada and was one of the victims of the woke movement in Canadian university along with Bret Weinstein(Evergreen).
Is a member of the informal Intellectual Dark Web. An advocate for men, especially young men. Despises collectivism other than small family unit. Is a big proponent of personal responsibility. Is a very interesting listen, especially his lectures

Everybody wants to hear the truth until it’s the truth about them.

Correct
You dislike him because he preaches individual strength, which you severely lack.
You need successful people to do the work for you.

Probably the absolute best podcast there is. He has an incredibly diverse group of guests and consistently exposes the idiocy our current culture.

The first thing to understand about Dr. Peterson is the Doctor part.
He's an academic. That is his passion. He's very long-winded and wordy. He was a clinical psychologist before he blew up. It can be a very boring subject.

Reading this I thought of the scene in Idiocracy when he’s on trial and the slack jaws say he talks like a f@g because he uses logic and reason.

I remember reading his 12 rules for life book. I thought it was really pretty good, but his random crusades against communism seemed out of place (albeit not incorrect)
Peterson is big on individual responsibility. His working theory in 12 Rules For Life is that if individuals start taking responsibility for themselves and their own little corner of the world, they'll not only better themselves, but create a better society.
Communism, and/or socialism is the complete rejection of individualism.

Then you missed the point. OP asked if there were any downsides. Not everyone is going to enjoy lectures.
