I’ve done it all I promise

And I was happy with it until I had something to compare it to. Think it really hit me when I went to Tuscaloosa for LSU-Bama and saw that they were like 20 steps ahead of BR in terms of night life and that about wrapped it up for me

Compares a shitty city to one of the fastest growing cities in the country. Makes sense.

Etta: I don’t disagree with you.

Can't leave the state, but this mayor doom we gots now is making me actively try to leave the parish.

being single in BR sucks
The only thing worse than that is being single in one of BR's rural suburbs where everyone your age already has multiple kids between the ages of 5 and 10.

Where in Sumner are you located? Gallatin? Hendersonville? Portland?

What part of Baton Rouge did you live in, and for how long?

What if you don't have family that's keeping you in BR?

I get it. BR isn't incredible. And I'm not going to make any claim that Nashville is lacking in any way when compared to Baton Rouge. But people that have to come on here an proudly pound their chests that they left Baton Rouge are just as much of the problem as those who have their head in the sand about the issues this city faces.

It's just a strange take from my perspective as a BR resident that wasn't born and raised in Louisiana.

I was with you right up to the moment I read this. Then you oversold it and lost all credibility. If you are willing to lie about this then I can only assume the remainder of what you suggested are lies from the Nashville Chamber of Commerce propaganda machine. You SHILLS never cease to amaze.

I get the feeling that a lot of posters on here are going to eventually be miserable no matter where they live.

I’m actually pretty thankful that my relationship with family (in-laws and parents in particular) is such that we choose to live near them even though the weather is sometimes hot (and all of the other negatives of living here).

I do totally get why people leave, though. Just the luck of the draw that we were born here instead of San Diego or Nashville or New Hampshire or whatever place would be nicer.

I know people have been leaving Louisiana for quite some time now but I’m curious to see the next census numbers in 2020. I just feel more people have left in the last 5 years than any span of time in this century.

with more plant jobs and stuff coming into the state? nah... we may have lost a little, but there are also place that are seeing growth... SWLA is gaining people...

it's just people that move TO LA don't post about it in a braggadocio way.... people who "escape" do...
