Those with spouses Do you consider the house you live in yours?
Posted by Hawgnsincebirth55 on 4/17/19 at 10:12 am080
For instance when inviting people over do you say come over to my house or our house? I feel like I’m 2019 I would hope we have progressed enough as a society that men would no longer refer to property which they clearly share with their spouse as theirs. It’s not yours it’s the land of the United States first and foremost that they allow you AND your wife to live on!

That's the truth. Private property is a myth.

I feel if you live with other people then its "our" house.

A fine example of over analyzing things...

Depends on why I'm inviting them over. Bunch of dudes coming over to drink beer and watch sports: my house. Couples thing, birthday party, etc: our house. My wife's interest level in what I call it: zero

My wife works and makes as much money as I do, more but that doesn’t matter for the topic...no, it’s our house. I have to fix everything, but that’s another topic as well.

The house.

Never thought about it but I guess I've always simply said 'the house'

We bought the place together and split the mortgage so it's "ours".
If I paid for it though, and she sat on her arse all day, it would be my house that I'm letting her stay in out of the goodness of my heart.

As of now, I say, “come over to the house,” because the bank owns more of the house than I do.

Everyone needs to remember this simple fact.
You're taxed on what make, then you're taxed on what you buy, then you're continually taxed on what you own, then you're taxed when you die. At any point you fail to pay these taxes, you forfeit your property and freedom. Well, except that last one. That last one is just there to frick your heirs.
