I had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy and the propofol just knocks you out. I felt like I teleported an hour.

I've had 3 colonoscopies over the years and they could have driven a Buick up my arse and I'd not known it at the time...................now, later would be another story.

Now, coming to in the recovery room with my wife by my side and a nurse waiting me to fart before I can be released is a bit unnerving for me.

Feeling hungry and bloated at the same time is the ultimate oxymoron.

I take tramadol for back pain but it has no effect. Probably different dosage.

Are you “alert” during morphine?

Yep, and I've had it given to me a few times due to kidney stone pain. It usually blocks the pain, but I'm still able to converse and am aware of things going on around me.

Tramadol after surgery was great. No pain, no "high" feeling, extra energy.

They gave me an OxyContin before my knee replacement surgery. That had me feeling no pain.
I was on Tramadol and oxycodone after surgery for about a week. That kept the pain at bay but didn’t feel anything otherwise.

valium/percoset for urethral stent removal

You're lucky. I've had 3 stents removed, all of them in the Drs. office and all they do is send in a nurse who tells me to strip from the waist down, put on a paper gown and get on the table that could pass for an OBGYN table.

Then she puts a smear of some type gel on her thumb and rubs it on the little head and leaves the room for 10 minutes or so before returning. Once she gets back it's a good size syringe with a plastic nozzle filled with another gel mixed with a deadening solution and she runs that thing up my manhood and injects it.

About 15 minutes later the Dr. comes in, she hands him a couple instruments and in he goes to grab the stent and pull the whole lot out in one steady motion. I was very surprised when I saw the stent as it was damn near 12 inches long that he removed out of my urinary tract.

Not my best day at a Drs. office by far.

Im morphine resistant, just does nothing for me. Had a kidney stone about 15 years ago and they gave me a demerol injection. Very nice.

Had a morphine drip after my c-sections. After the first kid I knew what was coming and after babies 2&3 were born I kicked my husband out of recovery so I could enjoy it in peace.

If that stuff were avail to buy at CVS I would 100% be a junkie.

That is propofol (aka milk of amnesia) and is a pretty amazing drug. When you come around it is like waking for the most restful nap ever.

Benzos. I hate opioids and am pretty intolerant to them.

urethral stent

I maintain that removing the 8 week stent that had fused to my urethra without drugs was the singularly most painful experience I’ve ever had.

I have had both shoulders done. Got Percocet after the first one and Norco after the second. No comparison. Perc is the shite.
