re: Hotel recs in Rome and Florence...
Posted by Weagle89 on 4/19/24 at 1:28 pm
We are cheap travelers, but we stayed in Navona Sky Palace last year for about 300Euro per night. It is a small property, and a small room, but for just two of us it was great. Rome is a very walkable city, but this is a little closer to the Vatican, but pretty easy walk everywhere we wanted to go...
re: Anyone here use Natural Family Planning?

If I recall correctly in a “normal”cycle there are about 8 days when she is fertile so if you are trying to not have kids that is your abstinence time. Unfortunately as nature dictates that is when she is most amorous so it can be tough. Other than that I have much longer than 8 day dry spells in m...

Used it and taught the technique for a while. Is is much more effective than people give it credit for but you have to be disciplined with it.
We have 3 kids using it.
My wife is starting to work with women now as it is important for them to know their cycles when they want to have kids and ...
re: Smoky Mountains: TN or NC side to stay?
Posted by Weagle89 on 4/17/24 at 12:13 pm
I would opt for western NC as well. Bryson City, Sylva are great areas (GSMNP, whitewater rafting, Great Smokey mountain railway for kids) and as someone else pointed out, Cashiers, Brevard are nice family areas (hiking, shopping, lots of waterfalls, etc). East Tennessee is more "touristy" if that...
re: Good base for Amalfi Coast.

Not sure how many are going and we are very frugal travelers, but we stayed in Amalfi at a place called A Passo Duomo on airbnb. It was a very basic place, but it was fine for us and the host was very helpful.

Went last September and stayed in Amalfi. BiL goes there often with his family and usually stay in Atrani. Amalfi was not too busy and and easy water taxi or bus trip was o lost places. Atrani is like Praianio I would think. Quieter and cheaper than Positano or Sorrento but still accessible. ...

I live in Chattanooga moved from Detroit so it is all relative as far as rating.
As for I24, it is a mess and I avoid it when possible. Live on the north side so rarely deal with it. I believe there is a multi year project to help widen / improve the flow. It certainly needs it...
