No wonder it took you so long pops, it's 4/17 now.

You're late.

After finishing grad school, I did not attend the ceremony. The primary reason is I do not value symbolism over substance. I earned the degree and did not value playing dress up and undergoing the ritual. I preferred to work on that day.

I just earned a Masters but I'm skipping graduation. I'd like to go but it's kinda far away and I don't want to travel with my new situation.

I'm glad you're going to yours. You earned it.

Thanks! We had a nursing school graduation when I got my nursing diploma years ago but it was a very small event(my class had like 30 people in it). I'm not planning on getting my MSN so this is my last chance to experience a true college graduation.

yep...I didn't really feel like it, but I am damn glad I did now. It was one of the big milestones in my life and I am glad I closed it out that way. Also, I had a couple of close relatives attend who have since passed away and their having attended means a whole lot to me in retrospect.

I went. I wasn't going to but my mother and wife both asked me to. I am glad I did. It was nice to celebrate the accomplishment even if I got it a bit later in life.

Hell yeah I went back. I spent 20 years (on and off, much of it off =/ ) working on my degree. Hell, high water nor the threat of a nude Whoopi Goldberg would have kept me from being there to walk across that stage.
