The T-P will occasionally have a long form, multi-day piece that is very good. Some of them were mentioned in the linked article announcing the new price model.

But the vast majority of what the T-P puts out, both online and in print, is hot garbage, It's basically copy and paste from press releases, or poorly written blogs.

If the T-P started a weekly or monthly magazine of in-depth articles by their best reporters (the few they have left) I'd pay $5 a month for that.

But for the every day news? LOL, no.

Curious if the tv stations beef up their online presence.

$120 a year?

Nobody will pay that. They’ll go bankrupt.

TP and its demise is truly epic and deserving.

I just can't get over the total lack of awareness to value their website subscription at $120 a year. The lead in paragraph on the article on why they are worth paying for is that they first reported the cars in the storm drains

Its because the people who populate the offices of places like TP truly live in a fantasy land. This is why Donald Trump is your President. The Advocate will eventually falter, but they will persevere for a time simply due to no competition and the life-support provided by their TV partnerships. The people who consume their bullshite generally don't have the disposable income to start paying for it. The advertising went away with the decline of their content, and now they will try to base ad rates on subscriptions, which will be non-existent. The whole thing is going to just snowball. frick em.

I think we can all agree that paying $120 a year to read Stephanie Grace is a bargain.

Nola.com was a great website before Georges bought it. Now it’s the worst. You can’t even read an article without it jumping around and you must log in with Facebook to comment. A once great newspaper totally destroyed. It’s a shame.

Pretty sure I don't have WAFB or WBRZ on my payroll and they supply me with news just fine.

Did you just compare a professionally produced, in-depth news story covering every angle to a shallow jumble of words written by Hayleigh?

Lol!

Let's face it, many people today can't comprehend what they read in a newspaper article. They can sound out the words, but they can't comprehend the story.

People tend to mock things they don't understand.

If the BR Advocate did it, then obviously the NO one would.

Just go to WRNO, WWL, WDSU and Fox 8's sites. frick the Advocate. Who needs it?

Where do y'all think news comes from? How do you pay reporters? Y'all seem to think you should get news without paying for it in some form or fashion

I pay $120 a year for the Wall Street Journal. But they provide actual news and content with factual references.
