Good info, thank you. She’s brought it up to her obgyn but she said it was somewhat normal.

I’m no John Holmes, but I get no complaints

How many of you who got the vasectomy actually went back for the sperm count post op?
I did. It was an awkward walk carrying a cup of your seed through a parking garage, up an elevator, and down the hall to deliver it. The cup was at least in a paper bag. I had to bring a second sample a week later because there were still some little guys in the first one.

got the big snip and glad I did, mine was a pretty bad experience , and not typical, was in the doc's office, and I'm not sure why but they always seem to have a hot female assistant, he gives me a shot and I'm all set, he reaches for my balls and starts feeling around and is like what the hell? and says he's going to have to do it the old fashioned way -with a scalpel and in the hospital, turns out there was a line of scar tissue paralleling the vas and he said he couldn't tell which was which without opening me up, recovery was pretty bad too

When you are already raising all the kids you want to raise
Your pull out game becomes incredibly strong.

Look at race of those men.
My wife worked at a urology practice that did vasectomies and she said black men rarely agree to it and most found the idea of it to be an absolute non-starter.
Its a cultural thing I think.

I have a 7 month old.
There is nothing that will stop my pull out game at the moment
I have the strength of a 1,000 men throwing the wife off of me right before.

3 kids. I got snipped.
2 was enough for me. Snipped. No complications and everything just as it was before.

Oh yeah, for sure. Not arguing its a low number, just thought it was really interesting.
You also need to take into account that vasectomies in younger generations are more common because the procedure has gotten way easier and less invasive through the years.
Far lower % of the older tier boomers have them than say, 40-50 year olds.
And then you look at socio-economic levels. Poor people and less-educated people, whom you probably don't associate much with, are far less likely to do it. Which is probably why it seems like a higher % of men do get them done to us.
At my wife's old job, they had 25% off "sales" for vasectomies during March Madness and The Masters so men could do it and be on the couch watching sports for 2 days. Always thought this was brilliant

I work for a massive healthcare company and do patient demographic research basically every day

Our third is now almost 5 months old. My wife got an IUD just like she did after our first for 2 years. I'm not 100% positive we are done, but IUD is great and only like $200. I don't know why more women just don't get an IUD. I feel like they are honestly just big poons about it. My wife was pretty sore and sick for like a week but now she has to do nothing for 5 years, and I don't have to have surgery. Seems well worth it to me???
For those saying "not everyone can get an IUD" sure I understand, but that "not everyone" is like 5% of women or less yet many of the 95% still don't.
I don't know how my wife never got pregnant when we were dating because she was terrible with birth control. But she got pregnant within 6 weeks of us "trying" for all 3 kids. We have over 12 years of "not trying" and no kid. So I feel like we are fairly set.
If she gets pregnant with an IUD, I'll be happy with it and I'll get snipped most likely.
