quote:Well, not exactly. At least not over here. I don't support gay marriage, but I also give neither a flying shite nor two flying fricks what other adults choose to do to themselves, each other, or even their pet Shetland pony. If the adults are willing, and the pony consents, then I'm seriously lacking the level of energy it would take to feign concern. It's not my bag, and I believe Judeo-Christian teachings are against it, but why does the OP's putative opponent have to withstand this smug, condescending name-calling now unleashed upon him / her? Can't we just simply disagree without being disagreeable?
...80% of your 40 downvotes actually support gay marriage, but just can't support the douchebag delivering the message.

The only people I know in my age range (mid-twenties) who oppose gay marriage are extremely sheltered church goers. It's very rare.
High school kids are still young enough to believe everything their parents tell them about politics. Once they get out into the real world, they'll actually meet some gay people, and likely change their minds. This happened to almost everyone I know who was raised in a very religious environment.

Once again, there tends to be a gay student or two in every class I teach (or a student with two moms or a divorced gay father or a gay best friend...). They are already introduced to it. It is still an issue.

That is OP's opinion and we all know what opinions are like and, yes, his stinks too.

Are you talking to me or the OP?

It's not a legal issue, it's a moral issue. Always has been for most who are against it.

Why you need to marry just to knock out the O ring. Just do the butt plug thing all you want. Who cares. Marry to have chaps. You can't fertalize a turd.

No it wasn't. SCOTUS didn't consider the concept until 1947 in Everson v. Board of Education.

This made me laugh way harder than it should have.

For the record, gay marriage is legal in California. It didn't pass 8 years ago but it is legal now. Don't pull SF into this shite. We are perfectly happy out here letting people make their own choices. If you don't agree with gay marriage don't get gay married. Pretty simple concept.

Because the Supreme Court forced it on California. The majority of Californians are against it, this is a fact proven in a popular vote taken 2 times.
But I don't care what you do, just don't act like the federal govt didn't ram it down the throat of Californians
See what I did there

But a turd can fertilize you.....??

Californians may not have done so by popular vote but I would wager SF overwhelmingly voted in favor. Most same sex families reside in the Bay Area, LA or SD. It's not like they are living it up in Bakersfield.....

i was trying to find something like that after i saw his post what we really need is for everyone over 40 or so to die. the archaic, religion-centric age group needs to go. now that we have the internet, people can see that traditionally unpopular opinions and views are more widespread than they think. cultural myopia is diminishing with the younger generation. in 40 years, we'll look back on illegal marriage like we do at the civil rights and women's suffrage controversies.
Yes, that's true - but, you all will have to live with any unforeseen consequences that may derive from it. Also, remember, in 40 years there will be a younger generation who believes your viewpoints are archaic; that you're obsolete, and that you too should be eradicated from the earth because you're not as smart as they are even though you are 40 years the wiser...
