What is even the point of renting this place?

is it normal to have to pay the full amount plus refundable damage fee up front?

i have never had to pay the full amount up front

For the super high end stuff like this, yeah.

We rented a really high end home in Nashville for a party and had to do something similar.

Honestly though, you get 3 couples to split it, that's $1200 a couple for a 3 night stay in New York in the East Village.

Not that bad. I'd rather a nice hotel with their guest services/amenities, but it isn't that outrageous.

That really doesn't look like a typo.

This was absolutely a typo
It's supposed to be "Bigger" added deposit. B and N are RIGHT next to each other on a qwerty board.
And the odd expression "bigger added deposit" makes sense as TONS of VRBOs are Dot Indian-owned. What they mean is that a big group would require a larger deposit.

Sidenote: 2 years ago I found our Destin Condo we reserved belonged to a Dr in Birmingham. I went down the prop record rabbit hole and found out Indian doctors all over from Nashville to Jacksonville are buying up VRBOs in the entire region under a few LLCs. Cabins in Gatlinburg to Condos in Destin.

IDK, was wondering the same. It is NY, maybe it wasn’t a typo.
