That dude should have to pay back all the money that he has made. The one time he was probably ever actually needed at the school he totally flopped

It's definitely not because millions sit around and do nothing thanks to welfare programs.... nope... def not that.

As bad as it sounds i'm sure that actually crossed his mind as things went down.
I'm just floored that a cop can make that kind of money without even working for the next 30 years if he lives that long. This guy was not even a upper tier Cop. What are these city and state workers getting off the tax payers when they retire??is my big question??

That's federal though. All levels of government will go broke because the number of people on the side of reining it in grows smaller because there is no political future in that.

Pensions for everyone in govt are way out of control. That practice needs to end for all govt workers. Move them to a 401K type plan.
Pensions were fine when govt workers made less than those in the private sector. That hasn't been true for a long time now.

Or he could have gone in, been gunned down by someone armed with a superior weapon, and been eulogized as a cop who died just before retiring like in the movies.

Fed Gov has both. FRS and the Thrift Savings Plan. The match is pretty damn great too.

Agree. You shouldn't have to do something illegal to be terminated. HOWEVER....when you terminate someone for cause and still have to end up paying legal fees and a settlement in at at-will state.....it makes it pretty tough.

They jack up their pension value by working overtime (more walking around, I guess) leading to inflated pensions. Pensions should be based on base salary only. The current protocol invites corruption.

Wife’s uncle was a state inspector, guy retired in his 50s and is the most worthless individual I’ve ever seen.

So presumably, he did his job for anywhere from 30-35 years and retired? Yup...sounds pretty worthless to me.
What's perplexing to me is the same folks that complain about Joe Blow actually retiring and receiving a pension are the ones who complain that there are no jobs -- specifically because Joe Blow won't retire and thus nobody can be promoted up, opening entry-level jobs.

This garbage cop's pension is higher than any enlisted military member's pension, and almost all officer pensions. Military members work ridiculous hours, don't get overtime, get deployed for a year at a time away from their family, and some are in legit combat. This loser worked 40 hours a week or was paid OT, plus gets a cushy pension at the end of it.
I think The Military should be the only ones getting a pension. The rest can join the rest of use with 401k , 403 etc... so a guy/gal can work a state job and retire at 55 or younger and get paid with an average of his last 5 years of highest salary. bullshite!!! Time to end this nonsense
