The left is truly the opposite of everything they claim. Socialism is not progress. It is regression to a system that predates capitalism.

Yup. In their hearts what they want is petty fiefdoms which they control where the rules don’t apply to them, much like the nobles in, say, late 17th century France.

They can have their galas and their dinners and spend money on their extravagant projects while the peasants are stuck in their houses or serving the royalty.
They Know who to bribe and when to throw some coins to the peasants while they ride in their fancy carriages.

Yup…late 17th century France is probably a pretty good comparison…just can’t quite put my finger on exactly why.

This is a multi layer problem. SF sold out to the top 1%, and now that many of those folks are remote and moving out, downtown is more and more empty.

The emptiness has allowed it to become vulnerable to the thuggery and ‘flash mob’ crimes. Their local and state policy has enabled these actions to go on with little consequence.

frick em, glad the people are starting to get fed up.

The revolution is working exactly like it should,

Chase off private enterprise, replace with public enterprise.

I am so angry at our leaders

This statement is the worst statement an American can say. They our the elected officials but society has morphed it into OUR Leaders.

That means we obey and not demand them to conform to our values.

I browsed the thread and saw this tweet...

quote:

This is literally happening under a Capitalist system. It's primarily because of extreme wealth inequality.

To which I responded:

quote:

The desperate attempts to contextualize what's happening with your progressive ideology, and the belief that more progressiveness will solve it, is exactly why this is going to get way worse for you all. You get what you vote for I guess.

Basically, it is IMPOSSIBLE for some of them to ever see or accept that their progressivism, their justifications for violence and crime, their telling everyone that they're a victim and everyone else is bigoted, racist, etc is the VERY REASON THIS IS HAPPENING. It's unreal.

It’s from the trend of a mob of people smashing into stores and stealing everything in sight

I also find it quite entertaining that the most progressive, woke cities in our country are the ones that are currently the worst off with this bullshite.

Funny how that works...almost like it's proof of what progressive policy and propaganda leads to.

Looks like they are preparing for a cat 5 hurricane to come through.

What people (including the ha ha they get what they voted for crowd) don't seem to get is that all of this looting and vandalism is going to impact THEIR wallets in flyover land.

Businesses, including their insurers and contractors, don't just take losses on the chin and say, oh well I guess we will pay our executives less from now on. They raise prices and rates on ALL of their customers to cover the loss.

People who chose to live in Louisiana pay hurricane and flood premiums on their homes that people in Nebraska don't have to pay. But people who shop at Target, Macy's and CVS in Nebraska are going to have to eat their share of the sh*t sandwhich that these "progressive" cities are creating.

This is not surprising. This is not good. SFO, too bad. I doubt the police get in anybody’s way anymore.

Went down the rabbit hole on that thread a bit and found this story...

quote:

After arresting him for felony auto burglary and possession of burglary tools, officers checked the suspect’s record and were so alarmed that they included a note in their report for the District Attorney which stated, “This suspect is dangerous. He has 73 felonies and 34 misdemeanors in S.F. alone.”

quote:

Eleven days later on Dec. 31 at approximately 4 p.m., officers responded to a vehicle collision that struck two pedestrians, 60-year-old Elizabeth Platt and 27-year-old Hanako Abe, at 2nd and Mission Streets. Officers arrived on scene and immediately rendered aid to the victims and summoned medics to the scene. One of the victims was pronounced deceased; the second victim was transported to the hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the vehicle immediately fled on foot, but officers took chase and arrested Troy McAlister, a 45-year-old male from San Francisco currently on parole for robbery, who had committed a burglary just prior to the fatal hit and run.

73 felonies and this guy was still free to steal a car and kill two innocent women. So we're to believe that there's a broken justice system that is too punitive, but this piece of literal human garbage was out free.

My mind literally cannot comprehend this. It's breaking my brain. We are causing the deaths of innocent, law abiding citizens, destruction of property, and a diminished quality of life because we want to coddle fricking criminals? Someone please make it make sense.

C on Z? Spleen? Help me understand this.

ETA: I bet the white progressives out there will have an interesting change of heart once their property values start to tank and they're hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars underwater. But it'll be too late at that point.
