I had a gf until I was 20 so I probably wouldn’t have had a real fraternity experience even if I joined one and went to a school with Greek life that isn’t gay (mine is).
If I could do it all over I would have just sucked it up and gone to texas tech or out of state at ole miss or LSU, but then I would have more student loans to worry about, so I think I did ok. By the time I turned 21 I could just go to bars and I met more than enough girls that way… can’t even imagine what my life would be like if I was in a fraternity. I probably would have contracted an std by now.

And the idiots who are anti- fraternity and cheer this shite on , totally don’t understand that it is their thing that gets demolished next. Eventually they come for everything and everyone.
Exactly. I personally think Greek life is retarded (really, really retarded) but frick going after it to appease the left

Yeah I love the idea that a state school in one of the poorest states in the country is overflowing with opulently wealthy kids
Honestly, most of the students at SEC schools come from middle-upper to upper class families. The fan bases as a whole definitely aren’t though. I think I read somewhere that LSU has one of the highest percentage of students who graduated from private high schools.

This. Just peruse the tailgate scene. Alumni come in for the day/weekend, spend $500+ per night on a hotel, and set up near their old fraternity house or in a closely guarded “spot” in the garage or on campus. They’re dressed pretty nicely and make it a whole day event. You can spot an SEC alumni at a football game pretty easily.
The non-alumni have nowhere to hang out, unless they are friends of alumni, and just wander around looking like the dregs of Walmart.
I refuse to sit in the South Upper deck of Neyland for this very reason. Nothing but poor fatass rednecks up there taking up too much bench.
Like it or not, Greek life tends to train kids how to behave around upper middle to rich people and about the expectations that those groups have. The days of Animal House type nonsense are long gone.

I’m sure the feeling is mutual…

No doubt. Same deal at most SEC schools. The non-alum fans embarrass the rest of us and they view us as a bunch of stuck up pricks.
How many events bring people together from all walks of life as much as an SEC football game? Multi millionaire alumni and dirt poor rednecks all cheering the same team.
Alabama sorority girls in $500 gameday dresses walking around guys with 4 teeth wearing Jean shorts and a ‘92 national title ratty T-shirt. The dichotomy is hilarious.

most white people fraternities/sororities = fun in college. black fraternities /sororities = in for life, like the mob.

You may be cringing but it’s the gods honest truth and you know it. Lol

So glad my son didn’t do the frat thing at LSU.
I was very surprised when my son joined a frat. I was not a fan of it, but in the end, it really was a good thing for him as he adjusted to college life. In this case, the frat was good for him.

This is most definitely true too. Of the 200 or so brothers I had in my fraternity, I’m still close friends with maybe a dozen and that dozen still hangs out all the time and our wives and kids are all friends and do their own things. Tailgates, camping trips, vacations, after work beers, etc.
Outside of those guys, college is more of a distant fun memory. The black Greeks though are a completely different deal.

Fraternities that choose to disaffiliate will lose the right to use the USC logo or brand, access the campus Greek life portal, participate in campuswide committees and club fairs and secure personal and professional leadership opportunities
I am sure this will stop them

The Left and academia are in a full on assault on the Greek System & have been for years. They just can't stand to see private organizations make their own decisions.
It’s mostly that the Greeks are traditional white organizations. Leftists hate it when white people join together.

I’m surprised you will sit in Neyland at all these days, given the state of the program.

meh too much division in the big stadiums... are they really at the same game socially when the seating is so segregated???? Luxury suites as opposed to the upper bleachers
