It's mildly ironic that the reason Americans are calm is because the government has promised to print money that it doesn't have and hand it out to everyone. I think the founders would find these times disturbing.

I don't think money is the reason people are calm at all. It's not very much money and it doesn't mitigate the loss of a career, business or job.
Who knows what "the founders" would think. They didn't live in a globally intertwined world or an America that has 50 states and almost 330 million people.
I think if the founders were here now, they would reflect on our history and marvel at America's wealth, power and freedom.
I also think there are a fair amount of people who are really dissapointed by how well the country is coping with this.
Are you one of them?

Not that much money? They’re threw 2 trillion at it and are already discussing round 2.
They are sending money directly to people, paying businesses to keep people on payroll, and propping up the markets.

All jokes aside, I actually think this is quite American. We always shite on each other and fight and call each other socialists or fascists, but when push comes to shove the people of our country come together and do what we believe is best. Really none of these stay-at-home orders have any teeth to them and rights have not been taken away, but people are largely complying out of free will, even those that think this is overblown, to be a responsible citizen. That is the very essence of what makes America special.

Obama wouldn't have stopped travel from China in a few weeks for fear of it being racist.
I realize leftists love seeing the country collapse while a Republican is in office from external sources though. Just move to China and we'll weld you in your house. You'll still have government healthcare though.
