Your idea of liberalism and what the leaders of your party have in mind are two different things... you might want to ask yourself...why would I give a government power over anything that I can never take back? Isn’t that the opposite of liberalism? Individual rights is not suppressing rights of others you disagree with.

If those were big problems for them, I’d advise them as my father did me: go to school, work hard, get a job, work hard, and most of all stay out of trouble. Easiest route to not to be a poor.
