Besides, the guy in the story got into Georgia Tech to study STEM. I would bet that there are other students there with higher SATs and better grades.

My son went to one of NYC's gifted schools where students had to test in. The school bent over backwards to increase diversity, but the ones who got in due to lower standards just became the dumbest kids in the class that couldn't keep up. The kids who got in based on merit did well regardless of the color of their skin.

With a 1590 SAT he probably doesn't even need to go to college, he can just invent something or solve some proof like Good Will Hunting and be set for life
