I just graduated from LSU in May and am taking a career in technical sales in July. My clients will be between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. It seems that a truck is a popular vehicle choice for employees of my company while still others drive the typical sedan. Would purchasing a truck help me to better fit into southern culture with potential clients or will puling up in a Camry get the job done all the same? Main concern at this point is budget

You sound weird so you'll probably be fired soon. Save your money and get a used car.

Pick something white and they’ll just think it’s your company car.

Not sure what kind of sales job doesn’t give you a ride anyway, or at least an allowance

Are you getting a vehicle allowance and fuel card?

Are you picking up clients or just need a commuter?

This has to be a joke, right? I have never looked down on or up at anyone in a professional setting based on their vehicle. I may be jealous of those driving a corvette or maserati personally, but I don’t think more or less of them in a work setting given their vehicles.

To fit in, you're gonna want to keep your truck budget to about 80% of your take home pay. I think that's how most of the plant baws do it.

You think your clients will be looking out their window with excited anticipation of your arrival?
