As usual the idiots on the OT think Rams are shitty. Then again they are idiots.

I have a 2014 Ram 1500 Limited with the 5.7. It rides great, looks good, has one of the best interiors that I've seen and gets plenty of compliments. I don't know much about the diesel. I did talk to a guy that has one. He was getting 32mpg on the highway.

What trim level are you looking at?

I worked at a place that has a fleet of 60 dodge trucks. I can pinpoint every weak spot on them

What about the V6 Ecoboost? More TQ than any other 1/2 ton motor except the GM 6.2.

Like anything, you judge it by the amount of torque and horses it has.

Bitch please.

Why do specs matter? It's all about the cylinders baw

Well in a smaller block engine of course you can

Semi engines use a straight six setup, and the heads on those engines weigh as much as a truck LoL

You do know the one ton dodge trucks use a cummins engine that's only 6 cylinders right?

I doubt it's a whopping 3.0 liter though

Ford's Ecoboost and Mercedes diesel's say hi...

I wouldn't hesitate getting a v6 in a full size truck if it was the right deal for me. My 2005 GMC Z71 gets maybe 16mpg with a nice taile wind. Plus, I don't usually pull stuff over 3k lbs anyway.

To each their own I guess.

My personal car is a 4 cl mazda. Just wanted to say this so you know I am not partial to any brand. I get a rental truck for work every week. The brand rotates. The GM trucks are by far the worst. The interior is very cheap, and there seems to be a lag in the motor. Fords are solid, but again, the interior seems meh. I have always had the same concerns about Ram, but they feel like they have the most power and pull of any brand. The interior is on par with GM and Ford. I have no idea on the reliability, but I would give the Ram a hard look if I was buying an American brand. I do know the Ford's are way too expensive. No way I would spend 45k+ on a 1500 pickup.

You work for my company? We build pipelines and switched from Chevy to Dodge 2 years ago due to the price...... They are the biggest piece of shites out there. How can I confirm this? We give our trucks to mostly Hispanics that give zero fricks about these trucks and they basically drive them like they stole them. The Dodge fleet is about to fall apart where the Chevy's eat the abuse like candy.

We had Fords before Chevy's. I liked them the best for going through mud and basically fricking shite up offroad, but I like the Chevy's ride better on the highway.

If I worked at a place that had 60 Dodge trucks, I'd get my resume out. Just a matter of time before they go belly up...

I'm looking at the dodge 1500 diesel.anybody have one? Any positives or negatives?

I test drove a Ram diesel not long ago. Great vehicle with lots of power. My only issue was that the diesels only seem to come with the fully loaded models. The 3.0L engine has been on sale in the Grand Cherokees for a few years now. People seem to love them.

Ram makes a great truck now. They ride very smooth.

I am also very impressed with the new Chevy Colorado mid sized truck. It is probably more than adequate for most buyer's needs. Perfect sized for me.

in comparison to my 05 F150 with 100k miles: I changed the brakes I changed the tires

On the flip side, my 2013 F-150 has a squeak in the tailgate that my service tech says 'they all do that- sorry' and it was in the shop THREE times because the A/C would just cut off at random times for random intervals. I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee that I drove for 160,000 miles that the only non-maintenance issue I had was the clock spring in the steering wheel went out. The damn brake pads lasted me 137,000 miles. The only reason I didn't look harder at the Ram is because it had a slightly smaller back seat and I didn't like some of the redesigns in the 2013's. If I had to do it all over again, I'd definitely look at RAM

Only a 3.0L turbodiesel V6 with more torque than the 5.7 Hemi.
