Why do you need a permanent spot? Isn't the point of a houseboat that you can float around, go where you want, and set up camp?

Not trying to spend an arm and a leg on gas all the time plus the motor goes out occasionally so would not be a good situation to be out dead in the water

Only place I’ve ever been on a house boat is Lake Powell, and it was awesome, so I’m going to suggest you go there

If on an LDWF Scenic River, you’ll need clearance. If the boat has a motor and is registered that helps your cause. Also Need landowner approval to moor in front of a property owner, on a scenic river that is:

There’s one down the diversion a lot. Don’t think he’s a permanent guy, he’s there some weekends not others. Another one anchors in the amite between the diversion and freds a lot.
Occasionally will find one or two anchored along the sandbars out on lake maurepas for the weekend.

He's pretty good at making up stories, here's another about black kids being loud on scooters in his neighborhood
