If we are talking about getting rid of something because it would be in the best interest of the country.. I would say a two party political system. Take this past presidential election for example.

Personally, I wasn't happy with either candidate. I would be interested to see how many people voted for one candidate, not because they really supported them, but because they felt it was the better option.

We are as divided as ever (well as divided as we have been since the civil war) and I just think there needs more balance.

I wouldn't ban it, but I would stop mandating it be added to our fuel. If people want to buy it, they should be allowed to, but they shouldn't be forced to.

The government, or random OT posters, picking winners and losers rarely leads to good outcomes let alone optimal outcomes. Practically every situation where we think the government needs to step in and "fix" things, a big part of the reason things are broken is that the government is already involved and is actively keeping market forces from doing their job.
