Quite a few cars still come with manual transmissions. I'm partial to the GTI.
Last year, I broke my wrist on vacation and no one in my traveling party could drive a stick. We had to recruit a friend to come up 75 miles to the airport to drive us home.

1. How to Change A Tire
2. Drive standard
While good things to know...
1 just isn't really necessary anymore with AAA and so many vehicles including Roadside assistance.
2 Isn't necessary at all since a tiny amount of vehicles are sold with manuals these days.

99% of cars are automatic.
so the those screaming a real man needs to know how to drive a standard....your reasoning is because you may travel to europe or rent a car that is standard?
Because that is some dumb arse reasoning.
FTR i know how to drive a standard adn drove one for years.
Bottomline is my kids have no reason to learn to drive a standard other than because there no reason not to. But Its not gonna make them less of a man either way. Not like they will be forced to buy a car that is standard when they are of age.
my point is, saying every man should know how to drive a standard is fricking stupid.

oh and every man should be able to do 5 dead hang pullups and 30 legit pushups.
if you cant, you are a weak or a fatass.

Well, you gotta know when to hold and when to fold; know when to walk away, and know when to run. Never, ever, count your money while you’re sitting at the table, they’ll be time enough for counting when the dealing’s done. And don’t forget, dad, sometimes you gotta fight when you’re a man, especially while enjoying a meal at Sonic.

My 1st truck was one of those old column shift manual with no power steering/breaks or A/C. It was a full body workout to drive.
Just realizing that it’s been 25 years since I’ve driven a standard/manual. It was the summer after graduating high school and led to hooking up with the ‘2nd hottest cheerleader’ at my school. I drove her manual car home after she had a couple too many margaritas at the Monday night Tampico’s special.
I think I could still drive one after all these years.
