Guess that's why you gotta separate church and state?

Read on twitter the other day grant wahl was there to broadcast and simply took a picture of the WC logo where he was- security walked up to him and made him delete it. It will be a disaster.

The “I can do whatever I want” mentality won’t fly in Qatar

When in another country you follow their rules regardless of how ridiculous they are. Reporter’s lucky he didn’t get arrested by being mouthy.

The USA Team won't be there long enough for them to notice.

I don’t know how you can tell which folks are citizens in which folks or authorities. They all dress the same.

I mostly agree. But you sought to have your country host the biggest international party in the World only to completely neuter it. Imagine insisting on having everyone over for New Years but not allowing drinking, music, or dancing. You’re the a-hole in that situation

Not sure if posted but John Oliver's main story last night was on FIFA and the World Cup. Pretty good watch for those wanting some background on the whole situation.

Didn't a US Federal grand jury indict some of the FIFA officials a few years ago. I'm guessing that got nowhere.

Imagine sending out New Years invites that read "no drinking music or dancing" yet you still go and expect something different. You're the moron in that situation.

It outlined it perfectly. On the flipside, it basically guaranteed the US would get it in 2026 which happens to align a little better with the team's age/experience/talent.
