Have these things caught on? I see several racks around town and there never seems to be anybody around them. How many people could possibly be using these things daily? Seems like a scam.

Hang on, trying to imagine what they look like without pictures.

I believe the point is to leave the rack area while using the bikes. Could explain the absence of people hanging around the rack.

Yes it’s a scam. By the bike company. Like CATS only not as much money involved or as many people using the service

There are white bikes in BR, chained to light poles and such.

I googled and apparently they aren”ghost bikes” to mark where bikers died?

Not sure about the bikes but I rode the scooters around downtown Tulsa and it was fun.

They’re called Gotcha. I’m trying to get a picture but my phone isn’t cooperating.

Also, if someone gets killed on one can they sue the city? I don’t know if we’ve thought this through.

Are you talking about the Gotcha bikes in BR? If so I would call them blue, they look similar to Bianchi Celeste blue.

They have one of those on Perkins between College and Essen. I always wondered what it was for.

Correct, they are memorials for dead cyclists.

lol

they came to st.louis, and the inner city dwellers either tried to scrap them for $$$, or threw them into the Mississippi river.

Wait until the Lime motorized scooters take over. Bird is another scooter brand.

They are everywhere in downtown Calgary and suck balls. Little laws governing where they can be ridden and people are idiots when riding them on sidewalks.

My neighbors and wife and I all use them. We have our own bikes, but these are really useful for going a couple miles or so, and especially between downtown and campus.

I drove my car to campus to help set up with my tailgate group friday, biked back home on one of the blue bikes for the night, biked to campus on a blue bike the next morning, biked back home with a blue bike after the game, then back again on a blue bike once I was sober enough to drive my car home.

They’re like $9/month to use, and if you pick your spot wisely enough, you don’t have to sit in a ton of football traffic. Park downtown, hop on a blue bike, and save yourself a lot of stress and money.

Can't you get a DUI on a bike?
