There is a lot.

I tutored old money HS kids in Science and math.

Most of those people while nice are disconnected from reality.
They don't view things like we do. I mean they grew up with generational money.

Just my experience.

One of my best friends is as old NOLA money as you can be.

From this person I get that they (the family) don't care about this stuff, the tide is irreversible.

And No, you can't just buy the poor vote.

The old money is in Toya's pocket. They want to keep her in office, because she only makes them richer...

I can’t understand why these old money folk stay vested in a city that is about as interested in their well-being as they are the inside of a French quarter dumpster.

They must like paying taxes to a bottomless pit of irresponsible spending.

It’s downright shameful

They're white. Most white people in NOLA are leftist liberals. All black people in NOLA are leftist liberals. The best the white conservative Uptowners could do was Mitch Landrieu... and there will probably never be another white Mayor of NOLA again.

They know this and combined with all of the crime, DeStroya's BS, the fact that the new DA will be a leftist liberal who lets violent criminals walk free and with the way the Orleans assessor keeps targeting them for over assessments of their properties, there is a quiet exodus of Uptowners to Metairie going on. A lot of them are leaving. Some even selling their homes and leaving for other states.

Why would they? They are taken care of by latoya. City contracts go to certain vendors for specific reasons

Yep, fortunes tend to get dispersed (or sometimes lost) through the younger generations. A lot of the "old money" may be very well off, but it often isn't in concentrated, really meaningful amounts.

Same here. They are the ruling class and don’t think they can fall victim to the socialist agenda. They can buy their way out of any problems.

I’m pretty sure the tax appraisals on their houses are a fraction of their true market value. They hire private security patrols and live in the Audubon Place compound, if possible.

They aren’t really affected by the crime, streets, public schools because it’s all they’ve ever known. If they moved to a “better” city, they’d lose their social standing.

Pretty much all "old money" in New Orleans live with the mentality that they have "frick you money" whether or not they have what YOU or others might consider that, or really whether or not they in actuality even have a pot to piss in.

It's sort of funny like that.
