Seems to be. People are selfish and arrogant. Ignorantly arrogant.

Breaks my heart. Most of these descend from people, who, were they alive, would slap them upside the head.

If the link is correct, than I stand by my initial post.

If your hands may be contaminated with the virus by touching your mask, where does the virus go if you have no mask. Logically, this makes no sense.

You are correct, masks on a healthy individual is not necessary. The virus will usually fall to a surface, contaminating that surface. People touch that contaminated surface and then rub their eyes(Mucus Membrane) and then acquire the virus. Masks become contaminated, the individual readjust the contaminated masks, rubs eyes gets the virus. Keeping out of individual personal space and washing your hands are better ways slow this virus down.

Fair.

I did go to the Danish Health Services website and did not see this. For that, I apologize.

That said, it is still not logical which is what my misguided rant was based on.

If wearing a mask is bad because the virus may be on it and touching it may contaminate your hands and then you may touch your face, how is the virus, if not wearing a mask, not landing on your face? It is not logical.

Perhaps it is a gross error in translation on their part.

Those who don't wear a mask must wash their face when they wash their hands. It is in the Danish website.

That does not satisfy my question.

If the concern is that the mask itself may be contaminated, than at least it captured some of the contagion. If that is the hypothesis, then your face would replace the surface that would have been the mask.

Correct.

And when you wash your hands, you must thoroughly wash your face at the same time.

We've gone full circle.

The OP was that masks increased the risk because the mask may be contaminated. If washing your hands and face is good, how would wearing a mask, while also washing your hands and face, be worse?

Don't say that it's because the mask may be contaminated unless you also recommend washing your face continuously.

Like the ones being forced to by their employers, who are being forced to by the government.

I know of no private,non-government contract related, company forced to wear masks because of the "government ".

I know of many, mine included, that mandate it for health safety reasons. By health safety, I mean legal risk mitigation.

ETA: the above is incorrect. Many states and counties have mandated the use of masks. My statement was related to companies, not national or local order.

If all the cities jumped off a bridge would you? If all the counties said they could run trains on your wife would you let them?

What a stupid fricking argument.

Somebody cherry picked those. For example, the Danes also say:

quote:

During a transitional period with increased infection pressure, and based on the precautionary principle, you might consider using a mouth or face mask in certain situations, such as prolonged or frequent close face-to-face contacts with customers/clients, etc. You might also consider using a mouth or face mask if you are a person at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 and cannot avoid situations where you get very close to others, for example, if you have to take public transport during rush hour.

The reason is called respect.

Frick respect. There’s a huge relationship between those demanding facemasks for public health and ‘respect’ and the protestors and rioters. Hardly any single damn government, media member, etc. that has been demanding masks has also gone public to demand the protestors stop until the pandemic is over.

Masks are fine, social distancing is better. It’s physically impossible to pass on a virus to others if you don’t have contact with them.

Furthermore, there’s a lot of anecdotal data that a vast majority of cases are spread by ‘super spreaders’. People that are very sick spreading it to a lot of people. I’m in the belief this will likely come out more and more, given the vast amount of cases of family members not passing it on to others in their own household. It’s very possible it comes out that a large amount of the virus is needed to be passed on to others to make them sick, and therefore asymptomatic people while still possible to spread the virus are most likely very rarely doing so.

But hey, let’s respect the media’s BS they are feeding us right?
