Memphis

Was the most racist town in America 20 years ago. Don't know if it still holds the top slot. There is a very expansive sized ghetto there, as big as a Chinese landfill

I agree. Even Graceland looks rundown.

This may surprise you, but the city of New Orleans expands past bourbon.

It’s impossible for a “majority minority” city to be anything other than a 3rd world shithole. We all know it. No one wants to say it. But we all know this to be a truth as undeniable as gravity.

If you are going to pick on Alabama cities Montgomery is horrendous

Do they smash car windows in
cars parked at sporting events and steak belongings of fans. Sugar Bowl disgraceful. Why would anyone park around Superdome. Locals should know better but tourists were suckered in.

Some of the surrounding areas are pretty nice. Folks who live there commute to work in the city. Arlington, Collierville, and Bartlett are decent places to live.

Of course.
But, it shows that at least Memphis puts some emphasis on safety in decent areas.

NOLA is just disaster everywhere.

You can see a real difference maker on Google earth maps of Beale Street: most of the surrounding neighborhoods there (that once were, at least) are gone, torn down, or fallen down through benign neglect. Replaced with open spaces or a few businesses or parking lots and parks.
Beale Street is now designed to make it easier to catch a foot powered perp running away. (IMO)

Cray Cray C-Ray said if you visit Philthydelphia you'd appreciate how clean New Orleans is.

Yup, that poster has never been to Mountain Brook, Birmingham Zoo and Botanical Gardens area and BCC.

The only edge I’d give Mandeville is salt water access for boating, and arguably Mandeville is the crown jewel of Louisiana living.

Interestingly, I was born in Gary. Nothing more but it's listed on my birth certificate.

It's a real sh.thole. 3rd world like.

Yeah that little sliver of Memphis between Poplar and Walnut Grove is pretty nice. North and south Memphis are horrible.

Try getting off the interstate in Philadelphia and riding through the city. Mile after mile after mile of tenements.

I know people from Birmingham that act like it’s Atlantis.

Birmingham suburbs are incredible for raising a family.

The crime is different than NOLA or Jackson because while it’s hit records as well, it’s all contained in certain areas.

Statistically there is almost no chance of getting murdered or shot outside of a domestic situation in the suburbs (Vestavia Hills, Mountain Brook, etc).

Did you ever go to Beale St back in the 70s? It was dirty, dingy and full of real blues and BBQ.
