There is nothing more conflicting than a dog attached to your hip in bed

On the one hand, it’s so sweet. They’re comfortable and they love you and you’re close to them.

On the other hand, give me fricking room to breathe. I like to flop around as I sleep. If I fricking peel away for my dog for more than a couple of seconds, I get a sad, hurt look from my dog about why am I abandoning her.

For the record, my dog can sleep in my bed if I gave her a bath/rinse recently and she’s clean. I ain’t a heathen

Not conflicting for me at all.. I love my dog more than i love most people, but i dont want her waking me up a thousand times during the night, or licking me awake at 5am- so she sleeps on the floor, in another room, in her own bed .

My dog doesn’t eat shite. She does occasionally lick her booty but she isn’t allowed to when on the bed. She’s not dirty

Yes, I do sometimes make her sleep in the other room. She’s just more likely to sleep in if she sleeps with me. If she sleeps with me, hell, she might let me sleep in. If she sleeps in the living room, she will be getting rambunctious when she senses my neighbors out and about outside at the crack of dawn

So you like sleeping in dog dandruff. Got it.

My dog doesn’t shed. I clean my sheets often.

Why is that particularly bad? I have my own dandruff in my bed already.

Dogs are nasty and shouldn’t be in a bed with humans

Thankfully none of my current dogs sleep in the bed.

I used to have a lil long hair terrier that insisted on it. When my wife and I first started dating she (wife) got to my house late when I was already asleep. When my wife got under the covers the shite arse lil dog was under there and bit the frick out of her foot.

We have small dogs now, and they do sleep in the bed. they sleep mostly down at the foot of the bed.

I love dogs, but the bed or furniture is not their place.

You sleep in dirt and dog hair and your house stinks.
