Yep. Our government is run (outside of very few exceptions) by 60-90 year olds.

As of 2022 boomers comprised of 30% of the voting bloc. Gen x and millennials and Gen z outnumber boomers quite a bit.

The Boomers who paid 10% interest on a home that costs less than a Toyota Camry does nowadays won't like this, but mortgage interest rates are way too high given the price of homes

People moving from the north to the south have gotten to experience that exact thing for many many many years.

OK? Is the new house going to be any cheaper than the house they just sold?

Why can't gen Zers just build a house with their bare hands on some uninhabited land like all the boomers did?

The good news is, in 10 years there will be a flood of houses on the market.

They may be downsizing. Their current home should be going on the market.

The RNC chooses who it funds. Just from a funding position, Boomers control optically who is put in front of the voting bloc. Otherwise, you would see so much more young candidates (whom Gen Z and Alpha are really REALLY primed for) put in front of everyone. Instead its Bubba old CEO friend from Pharma company XYZ.

All boomers are not created equal. The boomers in my family started with nothing and worked their way into middle class. Millennials today start in middle class and whine about not being in the top 10%.

God I hate that term

I don’t know how you fix it

It will inevitably swing back the other way. I mean eventually if people aren't buying houses, there will be a point where there is a huge boom in available hosues as people die. Now, does that fix the problem in any quick fashion? Absolutely not. I've already started to see homes here having some pretty big price decreases shortly after going on the market.

I think one thing that can help is getting government out of the way some when it comes to being able to build new homes.

It’s called Black Rock/ Vanguard / State Street buying residential real estate in massive quantities over the last 5 years driving home prices up.

because adjusted for inflation, it costs around 40% to 400% more to build a house yourself than it did in the 1970s while boomers had 2.5 to 3 times more buying power compared to today, per every dollar

You are easily gonna lose this argument

According to this board all boomers were raised in wealthy families and even though most of our country’s bad policies happened when most boomers were in elementary school it’s all their fault.

You'll never make it, matter what we look in the mirror and say.

You blame everyone else for your poor choices and lack of success.

You're the one who needs to do some self-examination, but we know tha won't happen.

And, "bandy"? Are you 80?

This should have never been a thing.

The "American Dream" was a belief a lot of folks had because it was actually obtainable by modest means. You might not have had the best house, but you had a decent one, in a decent neighborhood.

We have made housing a tradable commodity and now you have a bunch of young people who don't believe the American Dream exists. Not a good place to be in.

I agree to a point with this. Capitalism is great but keeping your younger generations away from the American dream of owning homes and starting families at a young age seems to be a thing of the past.
