Is putting it to sleep. My family went through that again this morning. Even though we have done it multiple times before, it still sucks.

This one was not as expected as the others.

Honestly that’ll probably serve you better in the end. To have to dread it sucks...

Every dog I or my kids ever had either got run over, ate poison, or died from some other reason...until now. We have a boxer we’re about to have to have put down. He has cancer in his back leg and is going down quickly. Have had him 10 yrs. Dreading it.

My boxer went down to that. Had to put him down because the tumors took over.

My parents had to put down a family cat we had for like 16 years that made a sudden turn down hill. Cat was perfectly happy then all of a sudden started dying out of nowhere. My mom fed him with a dropper when we first got him because he was so dang small. It hit her and my dad bit pretty hard.

Feel your pain man

Funny thing is, it's the best part about owning a cat.

Yeah, this dog was our Chihuahua. My mom got it when I was in the 6th grade. It was one of those dogs that my Dad didn’t want and then became really attached to later on. She had some heart issues that were being treated with meds (which were helping), but around 2:30 this morning she had some type of stroke or severe seizure. She couldn’t walk, her head was drawn to the left, didn’t appear she could see. She then had another seizure around 7:15. The vet thinks she might have had a brain tumor. We could have taken her somewhere else for testing, but since she couldn’t even walk, we knew that would just make her suffer. So my parents decided to put her to sleep and end her suffering.

Same here. Cat was less than a year old. Went from fine last night to looking bad this morning to a veterinarian saying this cat will die so put it down. Shocking because in my experience vets will try everything without regard to sense/cost before putting an animal down. A sad little girl upset over a dead cat is a rough thing to watch.

Dang that sucks. We actually have a chihuahua as well that was pretty much the same story in terms of my dad (or me for that matter) not really wanting but we ended up getting attached to. Little sucker acts noting like a “normal chuihuahua”. He’s so chill and laid back. He has an enlarged heart and has started going downhill the last few months. I don’t think he’ll last much longer than a year before they have to have him put down honestly.

I'm sorry for your loss. You never realize how attached you are to your Dog until you have to go without seeing them. I had to go out of town for a week for work and had to board my Lab. He sleeps with me and it was so weird not having him within arms reach. My little shadow. I don't even want to think about losing my buddy.

First time my brother and I have ever seen our dad cry was a couple weeks ago when my parents had to put the family dog down. Hit my parents super hard. The best thing I could do was bring my puppy over to take my mom and dads mind off it. It’s tough and it sucks. Good luck baw
