Lots of car dealerships have a form letter generator that shoots out these letters/emails. I bought my suburban from a dealership in Georgia that sends me an email begging me to come sell my car back to them because they have a buyer. Yes, the buyer is them and they want me jump in a new car loan now that I'm paid off. frick them.

I just posted a love seat for $100 this morning. Zero stains, non smoking house, etc. Perfect condition, like new.

it was some 19 year old kid. I had it listed at $7500 and sold it in 2 days. he was willing to pay 7500 until his brother asked if he was ok with the price. the kid then shyly asked if i could do 7000. i was dancing inside.

My dealer is in Dalton. These people feed into the mindset of folks who HAVE to HAVE a brand new car. Congrats on being perpetually in debt poor arse.

I seriously don't see the complaint to be had here. I see nothing wrong with negotiating, whether the tactics are poor or not. If the consumer really needed or wanted the item they would buy it close to the asking price. I wish more businesses worked off of negotiations, it bodes well for supply and demand.

Never bid against yourself, unless it's family or you're willing to give it away.
My response to this would be, "How much are you willing to pay? What's the most you will pay?"
Then bid against that $5 to $10 dollars.

I had a 2006 Ford Explorer that I sold through Criagslist. I had enough people contact me that I said if you want to check it out come to this parking lot of a notary and whoever pays the most right there can have it. $7,500 cash with 200k+ miles and no redone tranny or engine. Got the money and called my wife to pick me up.
