The world cannot handle any more of these shrewd Craigslist negotiators

how can anyone possibly make any money with these astute businessmen only willing to pay bottom dollar?!?
i know, i know... dear diary
bit in all seriousness, i have been an avid craigslist salesman for quite a few years. I have sold everything from a chair to a car; a playstation to my body. Most recently i have listed a couch. Naturally, i listed the couch for 25% higher than i really want for it because, well, its craigslist and no one pays full price on craigslist.
This morning i check my email and i have the expected response.
I love and hate this response at the same time. does he think im just going to say "wow, you got me. it is listed for $X, but since you NEED to know my bottom price, ill let it go for $10."
Instead, i always reply the same way "I think $X is a pretty fair price, but i am willing to entertain any reasonable offer."
i just think it is pretty silly that som estranger thinks another straner is going to cut him a deal because he said the magic words and asked for the lowest price.
i guess its better than the guy who asks if im willing to trade it for a broken down lawnmower and $30.
until next time diary,
XOXO D

I talked a guy selling an unused racing helmet down from 50 to 15 bucks a few months ago. You never know when someone is just looking to purge shite.

10$ and you get to give me a handjob.

Did you sell your body previously on this couch to make it doubly weird?

i always tell them "i'm not bidding against myself. if you're interested in it, make me an offer."

Deal!
and this counts as a contract so you cant take it back.

Sold a few things myself and always get this kind of answer. They make no offer and want you to come off your price - wanting you to bid against yourself. Uh huh right. GYFO.
Once I responded with a higher price than what was listed. Told him it was my special price for having to respond to his dumbass email.

whats worse was when he made me pick up the dollar with my bottom. But hey... a buck is a buck.

I've gotten above asking price on Craigslist before by playing the buyers against each other.
